Chemotherapy used to treat lymphoma can cause severe neutropenia. Risk models have identified factors that predict neutropenia across all chemotherapy cycles. We used clinical information obtained during pretreatment evaluation to develop a predictive model for severe neutropenia in the first cycle of cyclophosphamide, doxorubicin, vincristine and prednisone (CHOP) chemotherapy.

Twenty-five silver cones were removed from teeth which had been treated endodontically from 3 months to 20 years previously. Examination by the scanning electron microscope revealed that these cones were moderately to severely corroded. The corrosion patterns were described as ranging from pitting to deep crater formation with globular or spherical agglomerations.

Since the description of a new renal syndrome in patients with the acquired immunodeficiency syndrome (AIDS) in the middle 1980s, much has been learned regarding the association of human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection and renal disease. The HIV-associated renal diseases represent a spectrum of clinical and histopathologic conditions. In this review, epidemiologic and clinical aspects of HIV-associated renal diseases are presented.
