Pulmonary malignancies are known to have high prevalence and mortality. They are associated with different paraneoplastic syndromes, especially pulmonary carcinomas, because they are more common than pulmonary sarcomas. We present a case of a 56-year-old African American male who was admitted to our institution with a three-month history of a dry cough, progressive shortness of breath, and two to three days of right arm swelling.

Twenty Wistar rats imported from a nonpolluted city (Enugu) were exposed to both indoor and outdoor air. Following the IACUC regulation, baseline data were obtained from 4 randomly selected rats, while the remaining 16 rats (8 each for indoor and outdoor) were left till day 90.

Previously, we demonstrated that the queuosine modification at position 34 can be substituted with an artificial analogue via the queuine tRNA ribosyltransferase enzyme to induce disease recovery in an animal model of multiple sclerosis. Here, we demonstrate that the human enzyme can recognize a very broad range of artificial 7-deazaguanine derivatives for transfer RNA incorporation.

No research has, however, attempted to examine traditional foodstuffs in light of disasters and crises. Such research can provide a useful outlook on how traditional foodstuffs can aid households in a situation of disrupted food supply.

Dance therapy or complex motor activity, besides pharmacological treatment, may have benefits in PD patients.
Objective: To assess the effect of dance in patients with PD.
The impetus to modeling of enzyme mimics comes from their potential to provide insight to the alternate mechanistic pathways of the native enzymes. The present study demonstrates the syntheses and characterization of two different cobalt(II) complexes, [Co(pdm)(Phen)Cl]Cl·HO () and [Co(pmmH)(SCN)] () with the aminoalcohol ligands such as pyridine-2,6-dimethanol (pdmH) or 2-pyridinemonomethanol (pmmH) and their assessment as catechol oxidase (CO) enzyme mimic. Single Crystal X-ray diffraction and powder X-ray diffraction data suggest the octahedral environment around the Co(II) ion and the complexes form extensive 1D or 2D propagating network as a result of non-covalent interactions (O···H and C-H···π).

Using the RE-AIM implementation framework, we evaluated a multidisciplinary, primary level model of NCD care for Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians delivered by MSF in Irbid, Jordan. We examined the programme's Reach, Effectiveness, Adoption and acceptance, Implementation and Maintenance over time.

The presence of brain metastasis is associated with worse prognosis but it is unclear if distinctive biomarkers can separate patients at risk for CNS related death.
Methods: We executed a single institution retrospective collection of brain metastasis from patients who were diagnosed with lung, breast, and other primary tumors.
Xantho-granulomatous mastitis (XGM) is a rare entity, only recently described in 2005. These lesions are often biopsied due to their clinical and radiological resemblance to breast cancer. With limited clinical experience, the etiopathogenesis and natural history of XGM remains unknown.

Here, for the first time, carbon nanosheets have been prepared from the stems and leaves of a nettle fibre clone, by using a cheap and straight-forward procedure that can be easily scaled up. The nanomaterial shows interesting physical parameters, namely interconnectivity of pores, graphitization, surface area and pore width.

Background: The Ministry of Health in Saudi Arabia is expanding the country's telemedicine services by using advanced technology in health services. In doing so, an e-health application (app), Seha, was introduced in 2018 that allows individuals to have face-to-face visual medical consultations with their doctors on their smartphones.
Objective: This study evaluated the effectiveness of the app in improving healthcare delivery by ensuring patient satisfaction with the care given, increasing access to care, and improving efficiency in the healthcare system.
Objective: Malaria is an infectious parasitic disease affecting most of countries worldwide. Due to antimalarial drug resistance, researchers are seeking to find another safe efficient source for treatment of malaria. Since many years ago, medicinal plants were widely used for the treatment of several diseases.

This is a case of a 71-year-old smoker man who presented with four days of gross hematuria, which turned to be caused by eosinophilic cystitis (EC) proven by bladder biopsy. EC is a rare clinical and pathological inflammatory condition of the bladder with an unknown exact cause. It can present with hematuria, urinary frequency, dysuria, and suprapubic pain.

The exceptional optical properties of lanthanide-doped upconversion nanoparticles (UCNPs) make them among the best fluorescent markers for many promising bioapplications. To fully utilize the unique advantages of the UCNPs for bioapplications, recent significant efforts have been put into improving the brightness of small UCNPs crystals by optimizing dopant concentrations and utilizing the addition of inert shells to avoid surface quenching effects. In this work, we engineered bright and small size upconversion nanoparticles in a core-shell-shell (CSS) structure.

Since 2014, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) has provided primary-level NCD services in Irbid, Jordan, targeting Syrian refugees and vulnerable Jordanians who struggle to access NCD care through the overburdened national health system. This retrospective cohort study explored programme and patient-level patterns in achievement of blood pressure and glycaemic control, patterns in treatment interruption, and the factors associated with these patterns.

Background: Over the past century, the medical educational model has been static with no significant improvement. Studies show that students are leaning towards a more active, dynamic, learner-centered education model that fits their needs and encourages them to be more responsible for their learning. Thus, we conducted this study to investigate Jordanian medical students' perceptions and attitudes towards the value of basic sciences in their clinical training.

For the first time, a type-2 fuzzy logic based approach is formulated to find an approximated solution. The rules of the suggested type-2 fuzzy logic system (T2-FLS) are optimized by the square root cubature Kalman filter (SCKF) such that the proposed fineness function to be minimized.

The entropy-based feature extraction method can improve this situation, to some extent. However, it is impractical to directly extract the entropy feature for the detected SRN signals.
