Article Synopsis
  • - This study introduces a new model using nonlinear ordinary differential equations to analyze Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) dynamics across six groups: Susceptible, Treatment, Responder, Non-Responder, Cured, and Fibrosis.
  • - A comprehensive numerical analysis was performed over 20 years to evaluate the model's predictive accuracy, aiming to offer a non-invasive alternative for monitoring liver fibrosis progression.
  • - The model incorporates various parameters that help understand treatment effects on fibrosis progression and distinguishes the disease's natural course for non-responders, which could improve patient management and outcomes.

: The first case of COVID-19 was reported in Wuhan, China in December 2019. The disease has spread to 210 countries and has been labelled as a pandemic by the World Health Organization (WHO). Modelling, evaluating, and predicting the rate of disease transmission is crucial in understanding optimal methods for prevention and control.

Since the first case of COVID-19 was detected in Wuhan, China in December 2019, COVID-19 has become a pandemic causing a global economic and public health emergency. There is no known treatment or vaccine available for COVID-19 during the initial period of the outbreak. Immunotherapy and plasma therapy has been used with satisfactory efficacy over the past two decades in many viral infections like SARS (Systemic Acute Respiratory Syndrome), MERS (Middle East Respiratory Syndrome) and H1N1.

Chronic hepatitis C virus (HCV) and alcohol are common causes of chronic liver diseases and both are recognized as major causes of liver disease worldwide. Each poses a major public and economic burden to society, and when the two co-exist they appear to have a synergistic effect in the progression of chronic liver disease. In this research, we developed a SIRS model of transmission of the hepatitis C virus (HCV) under effect of liquoring in six compartments: Susceptible, Low liquoring, High liquoring, Acute, Chronic and Recovered Individuals.
