We performed the first case of major lung resection using the hinotori™ surgical robot system, which is a new surgical support robot system developed in Japan. A left lower lobectomy and subcarinal lymph node dissection were performed. The operation time was 3 h and 5 min, the cockpit time (console time) was 2 h and 5 min, and the blood loss was 40 g.

A growing environmental concern revolves around the widespread use of medicines, particularly antibiotics, which adversely impact water quality and various life forms. The unregulated production and utilization of antibiotics not only affect non-targeted organisms but also exert significant evolutionary pressures, leading to the rapid development of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) in bacterial communities. To address this issue, global studies have been conducted to assess the prevalence and quantities of antibiotics in various environmental components including freshwater, ocean, local sewage, and fish.

They have infiltrated the food-chain, the food web, even the air we breathe, as well as the water we drink. Microplastics have been detected in the food we consume, acting as vectors for hazardous chemicals that adhere to their hydrophobic surfaces.

Renowned for their non-toxic, biodegradable, and water-miscible nature with reduced volatility, DESs are mostly synthesized through heating and stirring method. Physicochemical properties such as polarity, viscosity, density and surface tension of DESs influenced their application.

The pineal hormone melatonin is a multi-functional molecule with a recognized role in pigment aggregation in chromatophores, mediating its actions through binding to subtypes of its specific receptors. Since its discovery, melatonin has been known to be responsible for pigment aggregation towards the cell centre in fishes, including their embryos, as an adaptation to reduced light and thus results in pale body colouration. Diversity exists in the sensitivity of melanophores towards melatonin at interspecies, intraspecific levels, seasons, and amongst chromatophores at different regions of the animal body.

The potential advantages of video-assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS) for children include better cosmetic outcomes and reduced risk of postoperative musculoskeletal deformities. The uniportal approach is expected to promote minimally invasive surgery and help reduce the incidence of postoperative musculoskeletal deformities. Uniportal VATS was performed safely in three children (mean age of 23.

Limited resection is often selected to treat lung cancer in patients with IIPs in whom respiratory function is already compromised. However, accurate surgical margins are essential for curative resection; underestimating these margins is a risk for residual lung cancer after surgery.

Method: Adults on ≥2 years of MHD, without additional risk factors for liver fibrosis or fluid overload, and planned for renal transplantation were prospectively recruited.
Seafood processing is an important economical activity worldwide and is an integral part of the food chain system. However, their processing results in solid waste generation whose disposal and management is a serious concern. Proteins, amino acids, lipids with high amounts of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFA), carotenoids, and minerals are abundant in the discards, effluents, and by-catch of seafood processing waste.

In the present scenario, tick-borne diseases (TBDs) are well known for their negative impacts on humans as well as animal health in India. The reason lies in their increased incidences due to global warming, environmental and ecological changes, and availability of suitable habitats. On a global basis, they are now considered a serious threat to human as well as livestock health.
