CD38 is a multifunctional protein expressed on the surface of B cells in healthy individuals but also in B cell malignancies. Previous studies have suggested a connection between CD38 and components of the IgM class B cell antigen receptor (IgM-BCR) and its coreceptor complex. Here, we provide evidence that CD38 is closely associated with CD19 in resting B cells and with the IgM-BCR upon engagement.

Article Synopsis
  • PDE-5 enzymes can be found in some cancer cells, and blocking them might help fight cancer; they are studied alongside a common cancer treatment called cisplatin.
  • This study looked at how sildenafil, a drug that blocks PDE-5, works with cisplatin on certain breast cancer cells.
  • Results showed that combining sildenafil with cisplatin made it harder for some cancer cells to survive, but this effect wasn't seen in all types of cancer cells after 48 hours.
