Background: The incidence and mortality of anal squamous cell carcinoma (ASCC) are rising, with greater than 80% of cases linked to human papillomavirus (HPV), primarily HPV16. Post-treatment surveillance can be challenging due to the limitations of anoscopy, digital anal rectal exam (DARE), and imaging. Plasma tumor tissue modified viral (TTMV)-HPV DNA has shown strong sensitivity, specificity, and predictive value in detecting the recurrence of HPV-driven oropharyngeal cancer.

Design: A quasi-experimental, pre- and post-test research design was employed to examine the impact of a nurse-led initiative on improving patients self-perceived knowledge and confidence pertaining to gender affirming genital surgery. The study followed the SQUIRE 2.
Purpose: The overall aim of this scoping review was to identify, explore and map the existing literature pertaining to healthcare access for transgender and non-binary individuals.
Design: The scoping review followed Arksey and O'Malley's methodological framework, and the reporting adhered to the guidelines provided by the PRISMA Extension for Scoping Reviews.
Methods: To gather relevant articles, a comprehensive search strategy was employed across four electronic databases, with the assistance of a university librarian.
Background And Objectives: Despite the increasing number of sexual and gender minority (SGM) patients in the United States and designation by the National Institutes of Health as a population with health disparities, available tools are lacking to train medical students on appropriate care for this population. Therefore, we developed and implemented a novel, self-directed, 2-week online elective for undergraduate medical students. The objective of our study was to evaluate the effectiveness of this course in increasing medical students' competency and confidence in caring for SGM patients.

However, virtual informed consent persists despite the pandemic being largely considered resolved. The continued use of virtual formats relies on a problematic "information transfer" model of informed consent.

Methods: We performed a retrospective observational single-centre study on HbA c, and sensor-based glycaemic data following the initiation of continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) in adults with T1D (n = 209).
Results: We observed an overall improvement in HbA c from 66 (59-78) mmol/mol [8.
Background: As the gender demographics of medical students have evolved over the past decades, it is important to understand potential stressors and challenges that may affect clinical learning experiences. This study investigated the prevalence of prior sexual assault (SA) and interpersonal violence (IPV) in medical students and how these affect their clinical clerkship experiences.
Methods: A survey was distributed to third- and fourth-year medical students at a single institution in August 2022 querying respondents on demographics and prior experiences with SA/IPV at any point in their lives.
Introduction: The purpose of this study was to identify the common factors that help and hinder transgender and nonbinary youth accessing gender-specific health care in Ireland and to identify how these factors may be perceived differently by young people seeking gender-affirming care, their parents, and health-care providers.
Design: Qualitative investigation utilizing framework analysis (FA).
Methods: In-depth one-one interviews were conducted with transgender and nonbinary youth (n = 10), parents of youth (n = 10), and gender-specific health-care providers (n = 10).
Background: Obesity is a chronic and complex disease characterized by the excessive accumulation of adipose tissue, which has detrimental effects on health. Evaluating the changes in quality of life (QoL) after bariatric surgery complements the medical benefits which are documented by healthcare professionals.
Purpose: To study the perceived health benefits 1 year after substantial weight loss induced by bariatric surgery.
Background: Obesity is defined as excess adipose tissue causing a deterioration in health, but diagnosing the causes and deciding on treatment can be challenging. Several randomized controlled clinical trials (RCT) have demonstrated the effectiveness of semaglutide as a treatment for obesity. This study investigated the clinical response to semaglutide as a weight loss treatment in a real-world setting.

Research shows that self-compassion is an adaptive way to relate to mistakes and challenges. Although there are many benefits of self-compassion, fear that self-compassion harms performance may discourage athletes from adopting this approach.

The clinical presentation of those seeking care has changed with an increase in transmasculine and non-binary identities and a decrease in the average age of those seeking care. Healthcare navigation remains complicated for this population and warrants further investigation in light of ongoing changes in the field.

Nexvax2 is a specific immunotherapy using immunodominant peptides recognised by gluten-specific CD4 T cells that might modify gluten-induced disease in coeliac disease. We aimed to assess the effects of Nexvax2 on gluten-induced symptoms and immune activation in patients with coeliac disease.

The guideline reflects substantial advances in the understanding of the determinants, pathophysiology, assessment, and treatment of obesity.
Summary: It shifts the focus of obesity management toward improving patient-centred health outcomes, functional outcomes, and social and economic participation, rather than weight loss alone.
Background: Over the last 6 years, there has been a change in the demographics of people presenting to gender services in Ireland. This is in line with international trends describing a higher number of transgender men (Female-Male, FTM, AFAB) presenting to gender services as compared to transgender women (Male-Female, MTF, AMAB), and lower ages at referral. Given the changes in demographics, it would be anticipated that clinical needs may have changed.

This review presents my theoretical model of self-compassion as comprised of six different elements: increased self-kindness, common humanity, and mindfulness as well as reduced self-judgment, isolation, and overidentification. It discusses the methodology of self-compassion research and reviews the increasingly large number of empirical studies that indicate self-compassion is a productive way of approaching distressing thoughts and emotions that engenders mental and physical well-being.

However, individuals with eating disorders usually reach their highest premorbid weight while still developing physically. Therefore, a more sensitive index of individual differences in highest premorbid weight may be one that compares highest premorbid z-BMI to current z-BMI (called developmental weight suppression [DWS] here).

Many patients with depression are not offered bariatric surgery due to concerns that they may have suboptimal outcomes. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between baseline World Health Organization-Five Wellbeing Index (WHO-5) and percentage total weight loss (%TWL) in patients after bariatric surgery.
