Indane-based molecules are effective scaffolds for different pharmaceutical products, so it is relevant to analyze the relation between structure and functionality in indane derivatives. Here, we have characterized the conformational landscape and molecular structure of 1-aminoindane in the gas phase using chirped-excitation Fourier-transform microwave spectroscopy and computational methods. The rotational spectrum confirmed the presence of two conformers, which were identified based on their rotational constants and 14N nuclear quadrupole coupling tensor elements.

Background: Widespread adoption of secure messaging (SM) provides patients with cancer with unprecedented access to medical providers at the expense of increased workload for oncologists. Herein, we analyze oncology SM clinical content and acuity and translate these to estimated cost savings from reduced appointments.

Methods: This population-based retrospective cohort study examined the content of patient-initiated SM threads exchanged through the patient portal website or app over 1 year (June 1, 2021-May 31, 2022) at 21 Kaiser Permanente Northern California oncology practices, which typically do not have patient copayments associated with SM.

Background: The ECOG performance status (PS) scale was developed to support national clinical trials, but the degree to which ECOG PS predicts clinical outcomes in patient subgroups outside of clinical trials is relatively unknown. This study examined associations between ECOG PS and adverse outcomes in a diverse community oncology population.

Mobile phone applications ("apps") are potentially an effective, low-burden method to collect patient-reported outcomes outside the clinical setting. Using such apps consistently and in a timely way is critical for complete and accurate data capture, but no studies of concurrent reporting by cancer patient-caregiver dyads have been published in the peer-reviewed literature. Background: The inflammatory response within the central nervous system is a key driver of secondary brain injury after hemorrhagic stroke, both in patients with intracerebral hemorrhage (ICH) and aneurysmal subarachnoid hemorrhage (aSAH). In this study, we aimed to characterize inflammatory molecules in the blood and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) of patients within 72 hours of hemorrhage to understand how such molecules vary across disease types and disease severity.

The gas-phase rotational spectra of α-pinene oxide have been recorded using a chirped-pulse Fourier transform microwave spectrometer in the 6-18 GHz frequency range. The parent species and all heavy atom isotopologues (13C and 18O) have been observed in their natural abundance. The experimental rotational constants of all isotopic species observed have been determined and used to obtain the substitution (rs) and the effective (r0) structures of the most stable conformer of α-pinene oxide.

The gas-phase non-covalent interactions in the -fenchol-HS and fenchone-HS complexes have been unveiled using rotational spectroscopy in a supersonic jet expansion and quantum chemical calculations. In -fenchol, the hydrogen bond HSH⋯OH together with dispersive interactions stabilizes the system. In fenchone, the weak interaction HSH⋯OC allows an internal dynamic of HS.
