Image-guided intervention in the management of chronic patellar tendinopathy with calcification: a three-pronged approach.

Patellar tendinopathy is a common cause of knee pain and functional impairment in athletes. It is commonly managed using conservative measures such as physiotherapy, but cases that are refractory to such treatment may require a more invasive approach. Various forms of image-guided injection therapy have been described in the literature.

Guillain-Barré syndrome complicated by takotsubo cardiomyopathy: an under-recognised association.

A 41-year-old woman was admitted with progressive paraesthesia and weakness and was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome. Following an initial period of recovery with intravenous immunoglobulin treatment, she developed acute chest pain associated with electrocardiographic changes. Investigations excluded acute coronary syndrome and instead confirmed a diagnosis of takotsubo cardiomyopathy, which was treated medically.
