Background: Adherence to medication is important for control of blood pressure (BP) and prevention of its complications. Identifying factors which improve adherence to treatment helps in improving cardiovascular outcome.
Aim: The aim is to study the adherence of hypertensive patients to medication using modified medication adherence scale (MMAS).
Objective: To study the prevalence of Gestational diabetes mellitus and to assess the impact of early universal screening to detect Gestational diabetes mellitus.
Materials And Methods: Consecutive 1106 pregnant women were screened for Gestational diabetes mellitus at their first prenatal visit during the study period of February 2012 to January 2013. All the women were screened with a initial 50 gram one hour glucose challenge test (GCT) and those women who tested positive were subjected to a standardized 75 gram oral glucose tolerance test(OGTT).
Chorea is brief, quasi-purposeful, irregular muscle contractions, not repetitive or rhythmic, but flows from one muscle to the next and athetosis is slow, writhing, continuous, worm-like movements of distal extremities (chiefly the fingers) which show bizarre positioning without posturing. Metabolic causes have been documented earlier, note worthy of that being Diabetes. Choreoathetosis has been reported earlier in diabetes mostly in an elderly female, diagnosed most often by Brain MRI.
