Support groups for family members of older adults in residential aged care: A pilot feasibility study.

Objectives: There are limited mental health support services in Australia that address the well-being of family members of aged care residents. The aim of this project was to evaluate the feasibility, acceptability and preliminary effectiveness of an online program designed to support residents' families.

Methods: This one-arm mixed methods project examined uptake, attendance and retention patterns, satisfaction and experience with the service, and pre- and postoutcomes with respect to depressive and anxiety symptoms and loneliness.

Optimal selection of agricultural distribution center location significantly impact the agricultural industry's growth and regional development, as they enhance product accessibility for customers and streamline delivery for suppliers. Research presented in this paper focuses on the selection of locations for the needs of an agricultural distribution center using a new method of multi-criteria decision making (MCDM), referred as the Ranking Alternatives with Weights of Criterion (RAWEC) method. On a real-world example, the Brčko District of Bosnia and Herzegovina was evaluated for potential sites for the formation of an agricultural distribution center.

Examining the Use of Virtual Reality to Support Mindfulness Skills Practice in Mood and Anxiety Disorders: Mixed Methods Study.

Background: Virtual reality (VR) has been proposed as a technology to support mindfulness practice through promoting increased engagement and presence. The proposed benefits of this technology have been largely unexamined with clinical populations. Further research is required to understand its clinical potential and utility in improving and managing mental health symptoms.

Using Artificial Intelligence to Detect Risk of Family Violence: Protocol for a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.

Background: Despite the implementation of prevention strategies, family violence continues to be a prevalent issue worldwide. Current strategies to reduce family violence have demonstrated mixed success and innovative approaches are needed urgently to prevent the occurrence of family violence. Incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into prevention strategies is gaining research attention, particularly the use of textual or voice signal data to detect individuals at risk of perpetrating family violence.

Investigating Pathways Linking of Women's Education Status and Empowerment to Intimate Partner Violence Among Married Women in Sri Lanka: A Structural Equation Modeling Approach.

In Sri Lanka, intimate partner violence (IPV) remains a major concern, particularly for married women. Women's education and empowerment are significant contributors to IPV. Despite this, there have been no recent studies exploring the complex relationship between education and multidimensions of empowerment in relation to IPV in Sri Lanka.

Application of the new simple weight calculation (SIWEC) method in the case study in the sales channels of agricultural products.

In this research is presented a new method for determining the weights of criteria called simple weight calculation (SIWEC) method. The steps of this method are presented in the practical example of determining the importance of criteria for the needs of sales of agricultural products in the Semberija region. During the presentation of this method two methods are elaborated the simple SIWEC method which includes numerical ratings and the fuzzy SIWEC method which includes ratings in the form of linguistic value.

Differential responses of bell pepper genotypes to indigenous Pseudomonas putida A32 treatment: implications for drought resilience.

Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the potential of endophytic plant growth-promoting bacterium (PGPB), Pseudomonas putida A32, to mitigate drought stress in two bell pepper genotypes, Amfora 19 and Amfora 26, and to assess the genotype-specific responses to bacterial treatment.

Methods And Results: The isolate P. putida A32 was selected for its remarkable beneficial properties, exhibiting 13 out of 14 traits tested.

Assessment of patient-reported treatment burden in patients with coronary artery disease.

Introduction: Patient-reported treatment burden (TBN) refers to the patient's time and effort invested in the management of their chronic health conditions. The aim of this research was to explore TBN in patients with coronary artery disease (CAD).

Methods: Consecutive patients with chronic medical condition(s) were invited to complete the study questionnaires (TBN and EQ-5D).

Prognostic and Clinical Significance of PD-L1, EGFR and Androgen Receptor (AR) Expression in Triple-Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC) Patients.

Triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is the most aggressive breast cancer subtype and is associated with high recurrence rates, a high incidence of distant metastases and poor overall survival. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of PD-L1, EGFR and AR expression in TNBC promotion and progression. To that end, we analyzed the immunohistochemical expression of these genes in 125 TNBC patients and their relation to clinicopathological parameters and survival.

Impact of Intimate Partner Violence on mental health among married women in Sri Lanka: a study based on Women's Wellbeing Survey-2019.

Background: Sri Lankan married women have been reported to experience higher rates of intimate partner violence (IPV). However, research on its impact on mental health and how socio-demographic factors contribute to this association is limited. Therefore, this study aimed to examine the impact of IPV on the mental health of married women in Sri Lanka.

Digital-Based Interventions for Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder: A Systematic Literature Review.

Research has shown that complex post-traumatic stress disorder (cPTSD) differs from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) on core symptoms relating to the individual's sense of self, and this has driven the need for treatment approaches to address these specific features of cPTSD. The COVID-19 pandemic has led to the increased use of digital-based interventions (DBIs) to treat mental illnesses, including trauma-related disorders. However, while evidence for the use of DBIs for PTSD has previously been synthesized, the current review is the first synthesis of research on the use of DBIs for cPTSD.

Factors associated with married women's attitude toward intimate partner violence: A study on 20 low-and middle-income countries.

Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is a global problem and has been reported to be significantly higher for women in Low and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). The researchers analyzed Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) data of married women in 20 LMICs to examine those most vulnerable to accepting IPV by investigating associated risk factors. The researchers revealed a higher level of acceptance of IPV among illiterate women from poorer households in remote areas.

Perfectionism as a moderator of the relationship between orthorexia nervosa and obsessive-compulsive symptoms.

Purpose: Orthorexia nervosa (ON), a proposed disorder describing an obsessive focus on "healthy" eating, is characterised as having overlapping symptoms with obsessive-compulsive disorder. However, ON/obsessive-compulsive (OC) symptom relationships are inconsistently reported. The current study aimed to investigate if the contribution of OC symptoms and beliefs explain variability in ON symptoms and determine if perfectionism, a transdiagnostic factor, moderates the ON/OC symptom relationship.

Factors and consequences associated with intimate partner violence against women in low- and middle-income countries: A systematic review.

Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) is a global public health issue, with notably high prevalence rates observed within Low-and Middle-Income Countries (LMICs). This systematic review aimed to examine the risk factors and consequences associated with IPV against women in LMICs. Following PRISMA guidelines, we conducted a systematic review using three databases: Web of Science, ProQuest Central, and Scopus, covering the period from January 2010 to January 2022.

How psychedelic-assisted therapy works for depression: expert views and practical implications from an exploratory Delphi study.

As investigations into the efficacy of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy to treat depression continue, there is a need to study the possible mechanisms of action that may contribute to the treatment's antidepressant effects. Through a two-round Delphi design, the current study investigated experts' opinions on the psychological mechanisms of action associated with the antidepressant effects of psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy and the ways such mechanisms may be promoted through the preparation, dosing, and integration components of treatment. Fourteen and fifteen experts, including both clinical psychedelic researchers and therapists, participated in Round 1 and Round 2 of the study, respectively.

A systematic review and meta-analysis of the relationship between obsessive-compulsive symptoms and symptoms of proposed orthorexia nervosa: The contribution of assessments.

Objective: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to update the literature on orthorexia nervosa (ON), a proposed diagnosis of pathologically 'healthy' eating, by critically analysing the current evidence for the relationship between ON and obsessive-compulsive (OC) symptoms. Further, this paper aimed to compare the ON/OC relationship significance and strength based on when the ON measurement tool was developed.

Method: PsycINFO, PubMed and Web of Science databases were queried for quantitative, peer-reviewed studies recruiting adult participants, published in English up to April 2023.

Selection of an Insurance Company in Agriculture through Hybrid Multi-Criteria Decision-Making.

Crop insurance is used to reduce risk in agriculture. This research is focused on selecting an insurance company that provides the best policy conditions for crop insurance. A total of five insurance companies that provide crop insurance services in the Republic of Serbia were selected.

An unbroken network of interactions connecting flagellin domains is required for motility in viscous environments.

In its simplest form, bacterial flagellar filaments are composed of flagellin proteins with just two helical inner domains, which together comprise the filament core. Although this minimal filament is sufficient to provide motility in many flagellated bacteria, most bacteria produce flagella composed of flagellin proteins with one or more outer domains arranged in a variety of supramolecular architectures radiating from the inner core. Flagellin outer domains are known to be involved in adhesion, proteolysis and immune evasion but have not been thought to be required for motility.

Increased circulating monocyte MDSCs positively correlate with serum Interleukin-10 in metastatic melanoma patients.

Numerous immunosuppressive cells such as myeloid-derived suppressor cells (MDSCs) and inhibitory cytokines identified in melanoma microenvironment have the important role in immune escape. Therefore, in this study we analyzed monocytic (m)MDSCs in peripheral blood of metastatic melanoma (MM) patients. In peripheral blood of 35 MM patients and 30 healthy controls we analyzed percentage of CD14 + HLA-DR- mMDSCs in monocyte gate and the mean fluorescence intensity of Foxp3 in CD25 + CD4 + regulatory T cells by Flow cytometry.

Investigating differences in cognitive flexibility, clinical perfectionism, and eating disorder-specific rumination across anorexia nervosa illness states.

Introduction: Cognitive inflexibility, clinical perfectionism, and eating disorder (ED)-specific rumination are common characteristics reported in anorexia nervosa (AN) and may contribute to the maintenance of the illness. It is suggested that clinical perfectionism and rumination may mediate the relationship between cognitive flexibility and AN pathology; however, research to date has not investigated all these factors together. The aim of the current study was to explore the relationships between these factors and how they may relate to ED symptoms in AN.

Long-term follow-up of patients with chronic total coronary artery occlusion previously randomized to treatment with optimal drug therapy or percutaneous revascularization of chronic total occlusion (COMET-CTO).

Background: The COMET-CTO trial was a randomized prospective study that assessed long-term follow-up in patients with chronic total occlusion (CTO) in coronary arteries treated with percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) or with optimal medical therapy (OMT). During the 9-month follow-up, the incidence of major adverse cardiac events (MACE) did not differ between the two groups; no death or myocardial infarction (MI) was observed. There was a significant difference in quality of life (QoL), assessed by the Seattle Angina Questionnaire (SAQ), in favor of the PCI group.

Near-IR & Mid-IR Silicon Photonics Modulators.

As the silicon photonics field matures and a data-hungry future looms ahead, new technologies are required to keep up pace with the increase in capacity demand. In this paper, we review current developments in the near-IR and mid-IR group IV photonic modulators that show promising performance. We analyse recent trends in optical and electrical co-integration of modulators and drivers enabling modulation data rates of 112 GBaud in the near infrared.
