Glyoxal cross-linked porous magnetic chitosan microspheres, GMS (∼170 μm size), with a tunable degradation profile were synthesized by a water-in-oil emulsion technique to accomplish controlled delivery of doxorubicin (DOX), a chemotherapeutic drug, to ensure prolonged chemotherapeutic effects.
