Autism spectrum disorders (ASD) are characterized by impaired social communication and interactions, as well as constrained and repetitive manifestations of interests and behaviors. Various interventions at cognitive and behavioral levels aim to address impaired social communication and interaction in individuals with ASD. This study systematically explores the transferability of social training in individuals with ASD, guided by the conceptual model known as the FIELD framework (Function, Implement, Ecology, Level, and Durability).

Echogenic bowel on the second-trimester ultrasound as an indicator of jejunal atresia: a case report.

Introduction And Importance: Fetal echogenic bowel (FEB) is a finding on prenatal ultrasound characterized by increased echogenicity of the fetal intestine. In this study we present a case of FEB with severe bowel dilatation identified on second-trimester ultrasound that was subsequently diagnosed with jejunal atresia postnatally.

Case Presentation: A 28-year-old primigravida woman was referred to our perinatology clinic at 18 weeks/3 days gestational age for a fetal anomaly scan.

Background & Objective: This study aimed to determine the incidence of microRNA (miRNA; miR-1290) in the serum of oral squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) patients compared to a control group using the qualitative real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method.

Methods: Blood serum samples were obtained from patients diagnosed with OSCC and confirmed through biopsy. The samples were collected from patients referred to the Mashhad Dental Faculty and Ghaem Hospital.

Background: Insomnia is a highly prevalent sleep disorder frequently comorbid with mental health conditions in nurses. Despite the effectiveness of evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy for insomnia (CBT-I), there is a critical need for alternative approaches. This study investigated whether internet-delivered mindfulness-based stress reduction (IMBSR) for insomnia could be an alternative to internet-delivered CBT-I (ICBT-I).

Cognitive Correlates of Risky Decision-Making in Individuals with and without ADHD: A Meta-analysis.

This meta-analytic study aims to investigate the cognitive correlates of risky decision-making in individuals with attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and typically developing (TD) individuals. A systematic analysis of existing literature was conducted, encompassing 38 studies (496 ADHD and 1493 TD). Findings revealed a consistent propensity for riskier decision-making in individuals with ADHD, supported by significant correlations with attention, cognitive flexibility, inhibitory control, time perception, and working memory.

Background And Objective: Vaginal atrophy is a condition where the vaginal epithelium gets thinner and includes symptoms, such as vaginal dryness, abnormal vaginal discharge, vaginal bleeding, dyspareunia, and sexual problems. The knowledge of the risk and protective factors related to the psychological impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on older adults living in residential care homes is based on limited data. This study aimed to investigate whether loneliness mediates the effects of fear generated by a pandemic on depression.

Sense of loneliness of veterans in Southern Iran: a cross-sectional study.

Aims: More than three decades have passed since the end of the Iraq-Iran war, and this period has been concurrent with a rapid growth of the older community in Iran which includes the community of veterans who often suffer from serious psychological and behavioral problems. The study aimed to investigate the prevalence and determinants of loneliness in middle and older veterans in southern Iran.

Materials & Methods: A cross-sectional study conducted among 583 middle and older male veterans (50 years <) who were selected by the census method in 2021.

Experiments: We designed and fabricated a new microfluidic device with a meter-long channel and a noncircular cross section (35 μm by 100 μm by 1 m) to study the flow behavior of long bubbles in capillaries wetted by water as well as surfactant and nanoparticle solutions. Flow in the novel symmetric loop device maintains essentially straight and inertialess conditions over a wide range of flow rates.

Histological and molecular evaluation of Mentha arvensis extract on a polycystic ovary syndrome rat model.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the impact of Mentha arvensis on a rat model of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Methods: The PCOS rat model was made by the daily subcutaneous injection of testosterone enanthate (250mg/kg) for 21 days. Thirty rats were divided into five groups, including a healthy control group and four PCOS groups treated with various concentrations of hydroalcoholic extract of Mentha arvensis (0, 50, 100 and 200mg/kg).

This study investigates whether the application of the internet-delivered mindfulness-based stress reduction (iMBSR) intervention will produce effects that are non-inferior to the internet-delivered CBT-I (iCBT-I) intervention in reducing the severity of insomnia in clinical nurses with insomnia at the end of the study.
