Diabetes mellitus, characterized as a chronic metabolic disorder or a polygenic syndrome; is increasing at a very fast pace among every group of the population worldwide. It arises due to the inability of the body to produce enough insulin (the hormone responsible for controlling blood sugar levels) or inability to utilize the insulin, leading to hyperglycaemic condition, which, if left uncontrolled gives rise to chronic microvascular and macrovascular complications like retinopathy, neuropathy, nephropathy, coronary artery disease, cognitive impairment, etc. Several therapeutic approaches are available for the treatment of diabetes; among which dipeptidyl peptidase (DPP-IV) inhibitors (gliptins) hold a significant place.

To address this and promote sustainable construction, researchers are developing solutions for carbon-neutral building practices, aiming to transform industrial waste into an eco-friendly alternative. This study aims to develop and enhance the mechanical and durability properties of alkali-activated composites (AACs) by incorporating varying amounts (5, 10, 15, and 20%) of finely ground bagasse ash (GBA) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fibers.

This study compares the clinical and functional outcomes between patients receiving platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections and those receiving corticosteroid injections for DQST. Methods A retrospective study conducted at Sri Devaraj Urs Academy of Higher Education and Research, Kolar, India, included 58 patients with DQST, divided into Group A (PRP injection) and Group B (corticosteroid injection).

Unsafe child feces disposal (CFD) is another form of open defecation and can pose a risk of disease in children. More than 30% of Indonesian households practice unsafe CFD, yet, its determinants are unknown. This study aims to identify the contextual and behavioral determinants of CFD through the lens of the Risk, Attitude, Norm, Ability, and Self-regulation (RANAS) framework.

Methods: This study was conducted at a tertiary care hospital in a lower middle-income country. Data were gathered from two different sources.
Objectives: To determine the levels of zinc in hair and serum samples of chronic telogen effluvium patients.
Methods: The case-control study was conducted at the Dow University of Health Sciences, Karachi, from April 2017 to May 2018, and comprised diagnosed cases of chronic telogen effluvium in group A, and healthy controls matched for age and gender in group B. Hair pull test was done, and level of zinc in hair and serum samples was determined using atomic absorption spectrophotometer.
Background Osteoporosis is a chronic, progressive, systemic condition of the skeletal tissue that is characterized by reduced bone density, microarchitecture deterioration, and fragile bones, making osteoporotic fractures or fragility fractures more likely to occur. This condition often remains asymptomatic and undiagnosed until it presents with fragility fractures. The condition is associated with a significant socioeconomic burden with disability, morbidity, and mortality.

Concrete is the most extensively used manmade material. Given the adverse environmental effect of cement manufacturing, research has focused on minimizing environmental impact and cement-based product costs.

The incorporation of steel fibers into concrete provides a bridging mechanism to arrest cracks, improve the post-cracking behavior of concrete, and transfer stresses in concrete. Artificial intelligence (AI) approaches are in use nowadays to predict concrete properties to conserve time and money in the construction industry.

It is also well-known that the inferior properties of recycled aggregates (RAs), when incorporated into concrete, can impact its mechanical properties, and it is necessary to evaluate the optimal performance. Accordingly, artificial intelligence has been used recently to evaluate the performance of concrete compressive behaviour for different types of construction material.

Methods: The case-control study was conducted from January to June 2020 at the cardiac unit of Civil hospital Karachi (CHK), and comprised coronary artery disease patients and controls. The tetra-primer amplification refractory mutation system polymerase chain reaction method was used to genotype Adenine-1210Guanine polymorphism in the vitamin D receptor gene.
Geopolymers might be the superlative alternative to conventional cement because it is produced from aluminosilicate-rich waste sources to eliminate the issues associated with its manufacture and use. Geopolymer composites (GPCs) are gaining popularity, and their research is expanding. However, casting, curing, and testing specimens requires significant effort, price, and time.

A scientometric analysis can deal with vast bibliometric data using a software tool to evaluate the diverse features of the literature. Typical review studies are limited in their ability to comprehensively and accurately link divergent areas of the literature.

Thus, environmental degradation is unavoidable because of waste generated from quarry drilling, cutting, and blasting methods. Marble waste is produced in an enormous amount in the form of odd blocks and unwanted rock fragments.

This investigation was done for the assurance of potassium amassing in four assortments of maize (grains, shoot and root), soil, and water and in seven tissues of chickens (kidney, liver, heart, bone, gizzard, breast meat). The analysis of variance showed significant differences for potassium concentration in water in all sources of water; however, the season and variety significantly influenced the quantity of potassium in cereals. The corn varieties MMRI, Sadaf, and Pearl behaved differently when treated with water from various sources.
