Article Synopsis
  • Phosphorus is essential for plant growth, but overusing P fertilizers leads to environmental pollution and low usage efficiency.
  • This study tested biochar-based fertilizers (BBFs) made from algae and hazelnut shells mixed with traditional triple superphosphate (TSP) to evaluate their slow-release capabilities.
  • Results showed that BBFs released phosphorus much slower than TSP, suggesting they could improve phosphorus use in crops, boost yields, and reduce the negative environmental impact of fertilizer runoff.
