Pristine metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are built through self-assembly of electron rich organic linkers and electron deficient metal nodes coordinate bond. Due to the unique properties of MOFs like highly tunable frameworks, huge specific surface areas, flexible chemical composition, flexible structures and a large volume of pores, they are being used to design the electrode materials for electrochemical energy storage devices. As per the literature, MOFs (including manganese, nickel, copper, and cobalt-based zeolitic imidazolate frameworks (ZIFs), University of Oslo (UiO) MOFs, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) MOFs and isoreticular MOFs (IRMOFs)) have attracted much attention in the field of supercapacitors (SCs)/batteries.

Self-Compacting Concrete (SCC) allows for the use of non-desalted sea sand as a fine aggregate, but the durability of triple mix SCC with partial sea sand replacement remains unclear. To optimize binder and fine aggregate replacements, tests for consistency, setting times, soundness, compressive strength, and Ultrasonic Pulse Velocity were performed. Six SCC variations, incorporating 30 Class F Fly Ash (FA), 5 Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag (GGBS), and various fine aggregate combinations, were evaluated for their fresh, mechanical, microstructural, and durability properties.

Article Synopsis
  • - Adolescence is a critical developmental phase where inadequate health knowledge can lead to poor health outcomes in adulthood; thus, education on health topics is vital.
  • - The RKSK program in India uses peer educators to improve adolescents' knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) related to various health issues, with a study focusing on KAP disparities by gender.
  • - Results showed that adolescents had the most knowledge about substance misuse, but less about sexual health and violence; peer educators generally had better knowledge, and engagement with RKSK improved nutritional practices among participants.

Article Synopsis
  • The study compares the oxidation resistance of HfB and HfAlB thin films at 700 °C over 8 hours, showing that HfAlB has significantly better performance with an oxide scale thickness only 14% of that of HfB after oxidation.
  • The improved oxidation resistance of HfAlB is attributed to its dense, primarily amorphous oxide scale, which includes Hf, Al, and B, reducing oxidation kinetics due to passivation.
  • HfAlB outperforms similar Ti-Al-based boride and nitride thin films, with reductions in oxide scale thickness of 21% compared to TiAlB and 47% compared to TiAlN, demonstrating effective oxidation resistance despite its

Photoreception is essential for the development of the visual system, shaping vision's first synapse to cortical development. Here, we find that the lighting environment controls developmental rod apoptosis via Opn4-expressing intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells (ipRGCs). Using genetics, sensory environment manipulations, and computational approaches, we establish a pathway where light-dependent glutamate released from ipRGCs is detected via a transiently expressed glutamate receptor (Grik3) on rod precursors within the inner retina.

The amount of apically extruded debris following glide-path preparation of mesial root of 120 freshly extracted human mandibular molar teeth using Senseus ProFinder files, PathFile, G-Files, Scout-RaCe files, HyFlex glidepath files and V glide-path two file system is of interest. The Eppendorf tubes were used as test equipment for collecting debris and the average weight of the debris was measured using an electronic micro-balancing system. It was observed that regardless of the file system utilized, debris was expelled from the apex.

Article Synopsis
  • - The study introduces the Digit in Noise test in Hindi (DIN-H), aiming to provide a quick and effective hearing screening tool for the Hindi-speaking population in India, addressing a shortage of hearing health professionals and resources.
  • - By recording and presenting digit triplets with noise to normal hearing subjects, the test was developed and validated, showing promising results in terms of speech recognition thresholds and consistency across trials.
  • - The findings suggest that DIN-H is a reliable tool for large-scale auditory system assessments, achieving a cut-off score of -5.6 dB for effective screening among the target population.

Accurately predicting agricultural commodity prices is crucial for India's economy. Traditional parametric models struggle with stringent assumptions, while machine learning (ML) approaches, though data-driven, lack automatic feature extraction. Deep learning (DL) models, with advanced feature extraction and predictive abilities, offer a promising solution.

The interaction between low-temperature plasma and liquid enables highly reactive solution phase chemistry and fast reaction kinetics. In this work, we demonstrate the rapid synthesis of stabilizer-free, spherical and crystalline gold nanoparticles (AuNP). More than 70% of gold ion complex (AuCl ) conversion is achieved within a droplet residence time in the plasma of ∼10 ms.

The present study aimed to investigate the role of antidiabetic drug metformin on the cytoplasmic organization of oocytes. Germinal vesicle (GV) stage oocytes were collected from adult female Swiss albino mice and subjected to in vitro maturation (IVM) in various experimental groups- control, vehicle control (0.3% ethanol), metformin (50 μg/mL), high glucose and high lipid (HGHL, 10 mM glucose; 150 μM palmitic acid; 75 μM stearic acid and 200 μM oleic acid in ethanol), and HGHL supplemented with metformin.

During surge of COVID-19-associated mucormycosis (CAM), we identified five cases of CAM where two different species of Mucorales were isolated. All had history of diabetes mellitus and presented with clinical features suggesting rhino-orbital mucormycosis. The patients grew different species from their nasal scraping/biopsy samples, Rhizopus arrhizus, R.

The significant consumption of fossil fuels and the increasing pollution have spurred the development of energy-storage devices like batteries. Due to their high cost and limited resources, widely used lithium-ion batteries have become unsuitable for large-scale energy production. Sodium is considered to be one of the most promising substitutes for lithium due to its wide availability and similar physiochemical properties.

The role of the gut microbiome (GM) and oral microbiome (OM) in cardiovascular disease (CVD) has been increasingly being understood in recent years. It is well known that GM is a risk factor for various CVD phenotypes, including hypertension, dyslipidemia, heart failure and atrial fibrillation. However, its role in valvular heart disease (VHD) is less well understood.

  • - Meniere's Disease, a rare ear disorder causing significant patient distress, has no definitive treatment, with Endolymphatic hydrops being a key complication, although its exact cause remains unknown.
  • - A study involving 25 patients with Meniere's Disease found that 56% had allergies, with airborne allergens being more prevalent than food allergens, and tyrophagus being the most common allergen identified.
  • - Despite high allergy prevalence, no significant correlation was found between allergy status and the severity of symptoms, but managing specific allergens may help reduce symptoms for patients with associated allergies.

Background: Since weaning failure is multifactorial, comprehensive weaning scores encompassing not only the respiratory component but also nonrespiratory aspects are quintessential for successful weaning prediction.

Materials And Methods: This was a single-center prospective observational study on 128 intensive care unit (ICU) patients undergoing spontaneous breathing trials (SBT). The extubation prediction score (ExPreS), heart rate, acidosis, consciousness, oxygenation, respiratory rate (HACOR), and weaning parameters, endotracheal tube size, arterial blood gas analysis, nutrition, secretions, neuromuscular affecting agents, obstructive airway problems and wakefulness (WEANSNOW) scores were compared for their diagnostic accuracy for successful weaning prediction.

The high cost of acquiring and annotating samples has made the "few-shot" learning problem of prime importance. Existing works mainly focus on improving performance on clean data and overlook robustness concerns on the data perturbed with adversarial noise. Recently, a few efforts have been made to combine the few-shot problem with the robustness objective using sophisticated meta-learning techniques.
