Sleep disorders, daytime symptoms, and quality of life in veterans with multiple sclerosis: preliminary findings.

Study Objectives: Multiple sclerosis (MS) is an autoimmune disease impacting the central nervous system. A hallmark symptom of MS is fatigue, which impairs daytime function and quality of life (QOL). Sleep disorders and disturbances are common in persons with MS and exacerbate fatigue.

Drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome/drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms following nivolumab and ipilimumab in a pediatric patient with melanoma.

Drug-induced hypersensitivity syndrome (DIHS) is a type of severe cutaneous adverse reaction (SCAR). DIHS typically occurs 2-6 weeks after initiation of the offending medication. We report a case of DIHS in a pediatric patient undergoing treatment of metastatic melanoma with nivolumab and ipilimumab.

Longitudinal effect of nocturnal R-R intervals changes on cardiovascular outcome in a community-based cohort.

Rationale: Sleep-disordered breathing (SDB) is strongly linked to adverse cardiovascular outcomes (cardiovascular diseases (CVD)). Whether heart rate changes measured by nocturnal R-R interval (RRI) dips (RRI dip index (RRDI)) adversely affect the CVD outcomes is unknown.

Objectives: To test whether nocturnal RRDI predicts CVD incidence and mortality in the Wisconsin Sleep Cohort study (WSCS), independent of the known effects of SDB on beat-to-beat variability.
