This study explores the association between adverse cardiac events and Hs-cTnT levels exceeding 14 ng/L in patients with stable CAD.
Methods: Thirteen pertinent studies were identified using specific keywords from a pool of 208 articles retrieved from PubMed, Scopus, and Google Scholar, spanning 2013 to 2023.
Objectives: COVID-19 revealed major shortfalls in healthcare workers (HCWs) trained in acute and critical care worldwide, especially in low-resource settings. We aimed to assess mass online courses' efficacy in preparing HCWs to manage COVID-19 patients and to determine whether rapidly deployed e-learning can enhance their knowledge and confidence during a pandemic.

Methods: We used 6-point and higher NIHSS thresholds including 8, 9, and 10-point to predict relative infarct areas, expressed as percentage of the affected hemisphere on axial brain computed tomography images, beginning at 5% with 5% increments each time until reaching the 40% cutoff for large infarctions, or achieving 100% sensitivity. Results were compared using area under the receiver operating characteristic curves (AUROC).
Vascular dementia (VaD) is a prevalent form of cognitive impairment with underlying vascular etiology. In this review, we examine recent genetic advancements in our understanding of VaD, encompassing a range of methodologies including genome-wide association studies, polygenic risk scores, heritability estimates, and family studies for monogenic disorders revealing the complex and heterogeneous nature of the disease. We report well known genetic associations and highlight potential pathways and mechanisms implicated in VaD and its pathological risk factors, including stroke, cerebral small vessel disease, and cerebral amyloid angiopathy.
