Unlabelled: Okra is an important traditional vegetable crop grown for its tender fruits in various tropical and sub tropical parts of the world. Yellow Vein Mosaic Disease (YVMD) is the major biotic factor causing severe threat to the okra fruit yield and qualities. The present study was conducted to find out the inheritance of resistance against YVMD and to identify the disease linked molecular markers through bulk segregant analysis.

Hybrids of cauliflower are in high demand world over due to their high yield potential, earliness, better quality, better resistance to biotic and abiotic stresses. Conventionally, hybrids are developed from the intercrossing of two diverse inbred parental lines which are developed through continuous inbreeding for 8-10 generations and still don't attain complete homozygosity. Doubled haploid technology on the other hand generate completely homozygous inbred lines in a single step.

Yellow mosaic disease (YMD) in bitter gourd () is a devastating disease that seriously affects its yield. Although there is currently no effective method to control the disease, breeding of resistant varieties is the most effective and economic option. Moreover, quantitative trait locus (QTL) associated with resistance to YMD has not yet been reported.

Seventy melon ( L.) accessions comprising of landraces, inbred lines, cultivars, wild relatives and exotic populations were characterized using fifteen fruit traits and 30 SSR markers. Overall, aim of this study was to investigate the genetic relatedness across origins, horticultural groups and accession categories.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are a large family of 19-25 nucleotides, regulatory, non-coding RNA molecules that control gene expression by cleaving or inhibiting the translation of target gene transcripts in animals and plants. Despite the important functions of miRNAs related to regulation of plant growth and development processes, metabolism, and abiotic and biotic stresses, little is known about the disease-related miRNA. Here, we present a new pipeline for miRNA analysis using expressed sequence tags (ESTs)-based bioinformatics approach in Kinnow mandarin, a commercially important citrus fruit crop.
