Acute renal failure and nephrotic range proteinuria due to amyloidosis in an HIV-infected patient.

Amyloidosis is an uncommon cause of renal disease in HIV-positive patients. Diagnosis is challenging, treatment options are limited, and prognosis remains poor. We discuss an HIV-positive patient with acute renal failure and nephrotic range proteinuria.
