Background: Preeclamptic women, in addition to traditional antihypertensive medications, often receive magnesium supplementation and are at increased risk of postspinal hypotension Postspinal hypotension increases the risk of fetomaternal morbidity. Calcium is a physiological antagonist of magnesium in vascular smooth muscle. Therefore, the study hypothesized that calcium is better suited for preserving systemic vascular resistance and preventing postspinal hypotension during cesarean delivery.

Background: Osteonecrosis of the hip is defined as necrosis of the bone tissue due to some form of vascular insult, subsequently leading to the collapse of the femoral head and secondary osteoarthritis, which leads to pain and impaired joint function. This disease is widely known to affect middle-aged groups; however, in the Indian population, even younger people are more commonly affected. The disease has a debilitating effect on the activities of daily living (ADL) and the productivity of individuals and has financial consequences.

Olfactory dysfunction (hyposmia, anosmia) is a well-recognized symptom in patients with coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19). Studies of olfactory dysfunction in asymptomatic patients have not been reported. We conducted a study looking for the presence of olfactory dysfunction with an objective assessment tool in asymptomatic Covid 19 and compared it with patients with mild COVID-19 and age-matched controls.
