Study on the changes during the fermentation of the wine prepared from palm () sap.

The sugary sap of different palm trees is fermented to create palm wine, an alcoholic beverage. This work was aimed at studying the changes that occur during the fermentation process of wine made from the sap of the wild date palm species . At first, the best age of the palm tree was determined by observing total soluble solid and sap yield for 24 h and was found to be middle-aged palm plants (15-40 years old).

Percutaneous transluminal mitral valvuloplasty in post Mitral valve repair and Aortic valve replacement patient.

MV repair in the rheumatic population is feasible with acceptable long-term results. Incidence of mitral stenosis (MS) following mitral valve (MV) repair for severe rheumatic mitral regurgitation (MR) and usefulness of percutaneous transluminal mitral valvuloplasty in these patients is not described in literature. We report a case of successful PTMC in severe MS following MV repair for severe rheumatic MR.

Primary surgical repair of coarctation of the aorta in adolescents and adults: intermediate results and consequences of hypertension.

Objectives: Coarctation of the aorta is known to present with hypertension in older patients; we reviewed our experience and assessed the outcome of hypertension following surgical correction.

Methods: From April 2004 to date, 43 patients above the age of 12 underwent coarctation of the aorta repair. The mean age was 20.

Complex Cervical Aortic Arch With Hypoplasia: A Simple Solution to a Complex Problem.

We report a rare case of a 6-year-old boy with a complex right-sided cervical aortic arch, with retroesophageal hypoplastic transverse arch, left subclavian artery arising from the Kommerell diverticulum of the descending aorta, and a vascular ring formed by the ductus ligament. An extraanatomic ascending-to-descending aorta bypass was done through a median sternotomy along with division of the ductus ligament, without any complications and good results.
