Solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) are becoming increasingly favored for their robust biocompatibility and their capacity to enhance drug solubility, particularly for drugs with limited water solubility. This study delves into the effectiveness of the hot melt sonication technique in fabricating SLNs with high drug loading capabilities and sustained release characteristics. Griseofulvin (GF), chosen as a representative drug due to its poor water solubility, was encapsulated into SLNs composed of stearic acid.

Cancer stands as one of the leading causes of death worldwide, and lung cancer represents its most aggressive and persistent form. Traditional strategies for addressing lung cancer involve various medical therapies such as radiotherapy, chemotherapy, and surgical excision. Despite their prevalence, these conventional methods lack precision and inadvert-ently cause collateral damage to neighboring healthy cells.

Severe aplastic anemia (SAA) is a life-threatening disorder with high mortality. The only curative treatment is hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT), but it is mainly for young patients with suitable donors. The alternative is immunosuppressive therapy (IST), which can improve blood counts in about 58% of patients, but many relapse after discontinuation.

Despite its effectiveness, challenges arise from its difficult flowability and tendency to agglomerate during storage, necessitating a granulation step before tablet compression, as direct compression has proven ineffective. This study aimed to optimize Lamivudine spherical agglomerates using response surface methodology, delving into the intricate relationship between design factors (concentration of tween, span, and acetone) and experimental outcomes (yield and particle size) through central composite design.

As peptide-based therapies gain recognition for their potential anti-cancer activity, cyclic peptides like Sansalvamide A, a marine-derived cyclic depsipeptide, have emerged as a potential anti-cancer agent due to their potent activity against various cancer types in preclinical studies. This review offers a comprehensive overview of Sansalvamide A, including its sources, structure-activity relationship, and semi-synthetic derivatives. The review also aims to outline the mechanisms through which Sansalvamide A and its analogs exert their anti-proliferative effects and to discuss the need for enhancements in pharmacokinetic profiles for better clinical utility.

A literature review was performed, which showed PPI to be associated with a shorter time to first fracture in adults aged 25 or older. There was an overall increased risk of fractures with PPI use in adults; however, such risk was not significantly higher in women over 80 years of age and adult patients with rheumatoid arthritis.

This current study aimed to load 5-flucytosine (5-FCY) into spanlastic nanovesicles (SPLNs) to make the drug more efficient as an antifungal and also to load the 5-FCY into a hydrogel that would allow for enhanced transdermal permeation and improved patient compliance. The preparation of 5-FCY-SPLNs was optimized by using a central composite design that considered Span 60 (X1) and the edge activator Tween 80 (X2) as process variables in achieving the desired particle size and entrapment efficiency. A formulation containing 295.

These arrhythmias are precipitated by factors such as age, sex, and associated comorbidities. Typically, patients with paroxysmal arrhythmias are asymptomatic during evaluation, and the condition is often detected incidentally.

Due to a lack of robust evidence for the effectiveness of mechanical thrombectomy, intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) is still the only approved first-line acute reperfusion strategy for posterior circulation large vessel occlusion (PC-LVO). This systematic review analyzes and reports on the effectiveness and safety of MT in PC-LVO.

It has historically garnered a bad reputation as a substance of abuse, but paradoxically is associated with an improved perception of well-being. We were interested in positive cardiovascular outcomes, both positive and negative mental health outcomes and impact on physical activity of cannabis, both recreational and medical.
