Zirconium copper oxide microflowers (Zr/CuO MF) based non-enzymatic sensor was developed for glucose detection in saliva, urine, and blood. An easy urea hydrolysis method was employed for the synthesis of the metal oxide and further calcined to improve the catalytic property. The flower-like morphology of the Zr/CuO was confirmed by SEM analysis and the presence of copper and zirconium was examined using energy dispersive X-ray analysis (EDAX).

Here we report the successful synthesis, fabrication, and testing of novel asymmetrically substituted 1,3-dialkyl-1,2,3-benzotriazolium-based ionic liquids. Their applicability in energy storage is tested as gel polymer electrolytes (ILGPE) immobilized in poly(vinylidene fluoride--hexa-fluoropropylene) (PVDF-HFP) copolymer as a solid-state electrolyte in electric double layer capacitors (EDLC). Asymmetrically substituted 1,3-dialkyl-1,2,3-benzotriazolium salts of tetrafluoroborates (BF) and hexafluorophosphates (PF) are synthesized by anion exchange metathesis reaction using 1,3-dialkyl-1,2,3-benzotriazolium bromide salts.

A disposable nonenzymatic glucose sensor was obtained by pulsed electrodeposition of Pt-CuO on a graphite pencil electrode (GPE). The morphology of the modified GPE was studied using SEM, and the chemical composition of the coating was examined by EDAX and XRD. The electrochemical response of the modified GPE was compared with individual copper- and platinum-modified GPEs.
