Across childhood, emotion perception from facial expressions has traditionally been studied with event-related potentials (ERP). Here, we explored the novel fast periodic visual stimulation (FPVS) electroencephalography (EEG) approach to provide information about how brief changes in facial expressions are processed implicitly in young children's brains. Utilizing two FPVS tasks for the first time in preschoolers, we examined brain responses to (1) the discrimination of brief changes in facial expressions at maximum intensity and (2) thresholds for discrimination of gradual increasing facial expression intensities.

Still, the structure-activity correlations for these catalysts are not fully understood to date, especially regarding compounds with nonionic backbones. Thus, in this work, 13 different borane catalysts of this respective type are described and investigated for their epoxide oligomerization and polymerization performance, using propylene oxide (PO), 1-butylene oxide (BO) and allyl glycidyl ether (AGE) as monomers.

Making use of these properties in synthetic polymer chemistry, it is shown that a combination of a specific mNHO and a Mg-based Lewis acid (magnesium bis(hexamethyldisilazide), Mg(HMDS)) delivers poly(propylene oxide) in quantitative yields from the polymerization of the corresponding epoxide (0.1 mol% mNHO loading).

'-Dimethylacrylamide (DMAC) acts as a cosolvent for the weakly hydrophobic trithiocarbonate-capped PPO precursor. Reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization of DMAC is initially conducted at 80% w/w solids with deoxygenated water.

The aim of this study was to determine factors influencing the occurrence of aBAT, and to investigate the effectiveness of the two preventive measures, warming and beta-blocker (propranolol) administration. Five-hundred-twenty-eight F-FDG-PET scans of 241 EuroNet-PHL-C2 trial patients from 41 nuclear medicine departments in Germany and Czech Republic were screened for aBAT.

Chiral diborane polymerization catalysts with 3,3'-disubstituted binaphthol-backbones are presented. These compounds deliver isotactic poly(propylene oxide) from racemic monomer with isotactoc diad () and triad () placements of up to 92% and >80%, respectively. The resulting polyether is well-defined, of high molar mass and semi-crystalline.

Previously, mathematical and statistical approach has been adopted to predict fixed time traffic signals, but it is no longer suitable for modern traffic-actuated control systems, where signals are dependent on the dynamic requests from traffic flows. And as a large amount of data is available, machine learning methods attract more and more attention.

Contemporary data on the incidence and outcome of TAVI patients undergoing E-OHS are scarce. This study aimed to evaluate early and midterm outcomes following E-OHS of patients undergoing TAVI in a large tertiary care centre with immediate surgical backup availability for all TAVI procedures over a 15-year period.

This emerging class of catalysts provides high reactivity and rapid conversion. Aiming for the polymerization of monomers with high side chain functionality, six-membered carbonates derived from 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid (bis-MPA) served as model compounds.

A simple two-step synthesis starting from widely available 1,1'-bi-2-naphthol (BINOL) backbones yields diboranes which, in tandem with organobases, deliver isotactic-enriched () polyethers from the homopolymerization of racemic propylene oxide (PO) and other epoxides. Thereby, isotactic diad contents of up to 88% can be achieved, resulting in well-defined (1.

In a context marked by high rates of poverty and malnutrition due to excess, it was possible to observe the influence of food environments with abundant ultra-processed and industrialized products, especially flour, through different access channels. The relationship between the role of women and intra-household food management shows that those who bear the burden of hunger are women.

EEG was recorded while children observed sequentially presented pairs of facial expressions, which were either the same (repeated trials) or differed in their emotion (novel trials). We also correlated ERP amplitude differences with parental and child measures of socio-emotional competence (emotion recognition, empathy).

The main purpose was to determine procedural success in a post market clinical follow-up (PMCF) for routine procedure in a diagnostic and interventional workflow. Real-time CMR provides high quality imaging without the risk of exposing the patient to X-rays, especially for patients with irregular heart anatomy and patients who are susceptible to radiation and iodinated contrast media.

A common way of applying the protein- and fiber-rich press cakes in directly expanded products is the combination thereof with starch, since starch gives a favourable texture, which correlates directly to expansion. To control product properties like expansion of protein and fiber-rich extruded products, the underlying physicochemical changes of proteins, fibers and starch due to thermomechanical input need to be comprehensively described.
