Background And Aims: Hypertensive emergencies, characterized by elevated blood pressure (BP) and multiple organ damage, have poor prognosis. Patients occasionally show gradual improvement in renal function with appropriate antihypertensive treatment despite renal impairment. Poststreptococcal acute glomerulonephritis (PSAGN) was suspected due to her elevated anti-streptolysin O and anti-streptokinase titers and hypocomplementemia. A renal biopsy showed crescent formation and endocapillary hypercellularity with neutrophil infiltrate.
