Alternative fuels are being explored to mitigate the effects of petroleum-based fuels. Pyrolysis oil from waste tires is a promising alternative fuel; however, it contains very high concentrations of benzothiophene (BT) which are beyond the allowable sulfur limits of Taiwan and the Philippines. Mixing-assisted oxidative desulfurization (MAOD) is a method that removes sulfur from fuel oils by utilizing high-shear mixing and oxidants.

Changes occurring during the 3D-printing processes itself may have adverse effects on the compatibility of the completed print. This prospective will put emphasis on the different additives and processes that can have a direct impact on biocompatibility during and after 3D printing of polymer materials.

Detergents such as sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) flow to the kidneys to remove cells but using this technique alone requires long treatment times. Coupling this technique with sonication treatment decreases decellularization time but may cause damages in the microarchitecture of the kidney.
