In March 2020, World Health Organization recognized severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) emergence as a public health emergency of international concern. One of the major preventative measures developed against coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) was vaccines. To monitor their use and safety of vaccines from the first utilization in humans during clinical development phases to implementation for the general population, an enhanced national pharmacovigilance system was enabled by the French National Agency for Medicines and Health Products Safety in collaboration with the 30 Regional Pharmacovigilance Centres.

Ninety-eight cases, representing 172 ADRs, were reported. ADRs were mostly expected reactogenicity reactions occurring within days after the first dose of vaccine and having a quick favorable outcome.

Bariatric surgery, like any other surgery of the digestive tract, can have an impact on nutrient absorption, as well as on drug absorption. The literature on drug management in bariatric surgery patients concerned mainly of case reports and retrospective studies involving a small number of patients.

It took its toll in 2 phases, the first being in early 2020 when very little was known, and during which the missions of the 31 Regional Pharmacovigilance Centers (RPVCs) from university hospitals were to detect adverse reactions of drugs used in the context of the disease. Whether as a possible aggravating role on COVID-19, or displaying a different safety profile during its course, or to assess safety of curative treatment, this phase preceded that of the arrival of dedicated vaccines.

The second phase followed the availability of COVID-19 vaccines, during which the RPVCs' missions were to detect as early as possible any new serious adverse effect, source of a potential signal that would modify the benefit/risk ratio of a vaccine and require the implementation of health safety measures. During these two periods, signal detection remained the core business of the RPVCs.

Concerning adenovirus vaccines, Vaxzévria® and Jcovden®, this national system, based on the daily analysis of notified cases of adverse events, has allowed the early identification of safety signals, some of which have been validated, others still under analysis, common to mRNA vaccines or more specific of adenovirus vaccines such as Vaccine Induced Immune Thrombocytopenia. Complementing european and international actions, this follow-up has contributed to a better definition of the safety profile of these vaccines and has led to redefine the vaccine strategy in our country.

Here we provide a comprehensive description and analysis of all cases of AOSD reported in the literature and in pharmacovigilance databases through April 2022. Disproportionality analyses of pharmacovigilance data were performed in order to further explore the association between vaccination and AOSD.

In this unprecedented situation, the cross approach and interaction between the French pharmacovigilance network and French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines and Health Products (ANSM) has been optimized to provide a real-time safety related to COVID-19 vaccines. Every week, pair of regional pharmacovigilance centers gathered safety data from the French pharmacovigilance network, to acutely expertise all the adverse drug reactions (ADRs) reported with each COVID-19 vaccine within a direct circuit with ANSM.

New haemophilia drug treatments with an extended half-life have become available over the past few years. The risk of inhibitor development to these new treatments is unclear.

There are scant data in children. Aims of this study are to report and describe noninfective NAE associated with anti-TNFα antibodies in pediatric IBD, and to evaluate their incidence.

We aimed to compare early platelet concentration kinetics, hematological safety profile, and impact on survival following the initiation of either the brand-name or a generic TMZ formulation. A retrospective trial was conducted in patients suffering from newly diagnosed glioblastoma.

Unlabelled: Iatrogenic antineutrophil cytoplasm antibody (ANCA)-associated vasculitis (AAV) is not exceptional. Many cases of small vessel vasculitis induced by anti-thyroid drugs (ATD), mainly propylthiouracil (PTU), have been reported. We present a case of AAV related to another ATD: benzylthiouracil (BTU) and review the literature.

In June 2016, the regulatory authority decided to apply a precautionary measure in reducing the shelf life of Ifosfamide EG® at 7 months. One-year study from spontaneous reports lead to suspect a potential residual risk.
