Introduction: the objective of this study was to evaluate the incidence of Chronic Intervillositis of Unknown Etiology (CIUE) at our institution and to report on the pregnancy outcomes based on severity of lesions.
Methods: retrospective cohort study including 29 889 perinatal specimens from 27 968 patients. The pathology database at our institution was queried for the keywords "intervillositis" and "CIUE" between February 2006 and April 2019.
Objective: Short-term studies have demonstrated improvement in urinary symptoms after fibroid debulking surgery, yet long-term data are lacking. This study assessed the long-term impact of fibroid debulking on urinary symptoms several years postoperatively.
Methods: This case series prospectively investigated changes in urinary symptoms of women who underwent fibroid debulking surgery by several gynaecological surgeons at one centre (2011-2016).
Objective: Placenta accreta syndromes are well-recognized risk factors for severe postpartum hemorrhage and are associated with significant maternal morbidity. Internal iliac artery balloon tamponade is an adjunctive procedure used to reduce blood loss at the time of Caesarean hysterectomy with variable results in the reported literature. This study investigated the outcomes of preoperative balloon tamponade at the largest tertiary referral centre for placenta accreta in British Columbia.
