Eco-friendly bio-larvicidal and antimicrobial activity of isolated bioactive compound from (Bacillales).

The targeted organisms include mosquito vectors, bacterial pathogens and non-targeted organisms. Preliminary mosquito larvicidal activity was conducted using cell-free supernatants (CFSs) from 11 gut bacteria. Among them, the bacterium SS11 exhibited promising results and was identified as based on its 16S rRNA sequence (1350 bp).

Pectinase from a Fish Gut Bacterium, Aeromonas guangheii (SS6): Production, Cloning and Characterization.

During the present research, 11 gut bacteria were isolated from the freshwater fish, Systomus sarana (General name: olive barb) and upon screening, the strains produced extracellular pectinase enzyme. Among them, the SS6 strain was found to produce a high quantity of 208.731 U/ml pectinase and through molecular characterization the SS6 strain was identified as Aeromonas guangheii.

Antibacterial efficacy of silver nanoparticles and ethyl acetate's metabolites of the potent halophilic (marine) bacterium, Bacillus cereus A30 on multidrug resistant bacteria.

Bacteria are generally responsible for the prevalence of several diseases and pathogenic bacteria are showing increasing resistance to different antibacterials. During the present study an extremophilic bacterium-A30 isolated from the marine waters was characterized and evaluated against four multi-drug resistant (MDR) pathogens, viz; Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), Escherichia coli, Klebsiella pneumoniae, and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. The sensitivity pattern of the selected pathogens was tested with 31 antibiotics.

Host dependent expression of early HPV oncoproteins, E6 and E7 play central role in the formation of cervical carcinoma. Presently, we have shown that the cyanidin analog, idaein chloride treatment induced dose dependent apoptosis (IC50 = 2.579 μg/ml) in HPV positive - HeLa cells.
