Chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy against B-cell maturation antigen is a new treatment modality for relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma (MM). Patients with kidney failure and MM were excluded from the pivotal CAR T-cell therapy clinical trials: KaRMMa (idecabtagene vicleucel) and CARTITUDE (ciltacabtagene autocleucel). The safety and efficacy of CAR T-cell therapy in patients with relapsed or refractory MM and kidney failure are limited to a few case reports using idecabtagene vicleucel.
