Background: There are few data reporting the needs and priorities of older adults in Brazil. This hampers the development and/or implementation of policies aimed at older adults to help them age well. The aim of this study was to understand areas of importance, priorities, enablers and obstacles to healthy ageing as identified by older adults and key stakeholders in both urban and rural environments.

This study compared mirtazapine with megestrol in the management of cancer-related anorexia-cachexia syndrome in patients with advanced cancer. A randomized, double-blind, controlled clinical trial involving patients with advanced cancer and anorexia-cachexia syndrome was performed. Participants received mirtazapine 30 mg/day or megestrol 320 mg/day for eight weeks.

A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial is performed with thirty-four sarcopenic women (2010 European Consensus of Sarcopenia), aged ≥ 65 years. The participants are allocated into the following two groups: Exercise and Fish Oil (EFO) and Exercise and Placebo (EP).

Methods: A sample of 155 college students, of both sexes (18-30 years old) was evaluated. Anthropometric measures, REE by IC, and whole-body DXA-scans were performed.
Background And Purpose: With the increase in the percentage of the population in older adulthood, issues such as frailty syndrome need to be considered. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the ability of the Balance Evaluation Systems Test (BESTest) and center of pressure (COP) in their ability to discriminate between nonfrail, prefrail, and frail older adults. The proposed hypothesis is that frail older adults would show poorer performance in BESTest tasks and higher oscillation of COP on a force platform.
