The aim of this work is to provide a detailed review of scientific literature on the genus from the last two decades, with particular emphasis on the biological and pharmacological characteristics of dandelions. The traditional use of species and their potential use in medicine are assessed.

The purpose of the present study was to investigate the antimicrobial potential of six (6) newly synthesized chemical compounds (derivating from phenantroline and dimethylguanin-copper complex combinations) versus 97 enterobacterial strains isolated from the hospital environment.
