Since their discovery in 2011, the MXene family of two-dimensional (2D) materials has attracted much interest due to its unique properties, leading to practical applications. Recently, special attention has been paid to magnetic MXenes. However, despite the great diversity of the chemical composition of MXenes, which opens up prospects for obtaining magnetic 2D materials, only a few MXenes with intrinsic magnetism have been synthesized to date.

The investigation of the phase stability of MAX phases is performed by comparing the total energy of MAX phases to that of the set of competitive phases for calculation of the phase formation enthalpy.

It is known that the striped phases in doped perovskites are due to competing interactions involving charge, spin, and lattice degrees of freedom. In this work, we show that two different stripes can be represented as a superposition of a pair of stripes, U(θ ) or D(θ ), characterized by perovskite tilts where one of the pair is rotated in relation to the other partner by an angle Δθ = π/2.
