Prevalence and antimicrobial resistance profile of Salmonella typhi infection in Iraq, 2019-2021.

Introduction: Salmonella typhi could infect the intestinal tract and the bloodstream or invade body organs and secrete endotoxins. It is endemic in developing countries. It is increasingly evolving antimicrobial resistance to several commonly used antimicrobial agents.

New Schiff base ligand, derived from antiviral valacyclovir, and its novel Cr(III), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) complexes have been synthesized. By using a variety of analytical and spectroscopic techniques, the type of bonding between the ligand and the metal ions in the recently formed complexes was clarified. The Schiff base ligand act as a bidentate and coordinated with the metal ions through the azomethine-N and the phenolic-O centers, in a mono-deprotonated form.

Pentaglobin (immunoglobulin M-enriched immunoglobulin) as adjuvant therapy for premature and very low-birth-weight neonates with sepsis.

Objectives: The purpose of this research was to determine the effectiveness of Pentaglobin® as adjuvant therapy in the treatment of sepsis in preterm newborns.

Materials And Methods: It was a prospective, observational, randomized study for 272 premature neonates and very low birth weight (VLBW) that were diagnosed with sepsis carried at neonatal intensive care units. The patients randomized into control group who received standard sepsis antibiotic treatments, and an intervention group who received Pentaglobin® 5 ml/kg daily for 3 consecutive days as an adjunct therapy to a standard sepsis antibiotic treatment.

Safety of COVID-19 vaccines.

Assessment of COVID-19 Treatment containing both Hydroxychloroquine and Azithromycin: A natural clinical trial.

Methods: This prospective study used a pre- and post-intervention design without a comparison group. The intervention was routine Ministry of Health (MOH) approved the management of COVID-19 for all patients.

Objective: The current study was conducted to determine the distribution of genetic polymorphisms in CYP2C19 in Iraqi patients and their role in inter-individual variability of clopidogrel efficacy.

Radiation dose reduction in thoracic and abdomen-pelvic CT using tube current modulation: a phantom study.

This phantom study was designed to compare the radiation dose in thoracic and abdomen-pelvic CT scans with and without use of tube current modulation (TCM). Effective dose (ED) and size-specific dose estimation (SSDE) were calculated with the absorbed doses measured at selective radiosensitive organs using a thermoluminescence dosimeter-100 (TLD-100). When compared to protocols without TCM, the ED and SSDE were reduced significantly with use of TCM for both the thoracic and abdomen-pelvic CT.
