Objectives: The debate over extending the legal time limit for abortion in Belgium has intensified in recent years. Health care providers must refer patients seeking abortion beyond the legal deadline to other countries, such as the Netherlands, where the time limits are more permissive. In light of this situation, we analyzed the demographic and social characteristics of patients requesting abortion after 14 weeks of gestation and compared them with those seeking the procedure within the legal limits.

Carbohydrate antigen 125 (CA 125) has been shown to be a potential marker of congestion and prognosis in HF. We sought to better characterize HFpEF patients with high CA 125 levels by using a multimodal approach.

Despite dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) combining aspirin and a P2Y receptor inhibitor, high on-treatment platelet reactivity (HPR) persists in some patients due to poor response to treatment and is associated with ischemic risk. Tubulin acetylation has been pointed out as a hallmark of stable microtubules responsible for the discoid shape of resting platelets.

Myeloperoxidase (MPO) functions as a link between oxidative stress and inflammation and is an interesting therapeutic target. The objective of this observational cohort study was to compare MPO levels between HFpEF and old controls, to define clinical characteristics associated with high levels of MPO and to assess the relation between MPO levels and vascular function.
