Ferroptosis is a novel form of cell death characterized by unlimited accumulation of iron-dependent lipid peroxides. It is often accompanied by disease, and the relationship between ferroptosis of immune cells and immune regulation has been attracting increasing attention. Initially, it was found in cancer research that the inhibition of regulatory T cell (Treg) ferroptosis and the promotion of CD8+ T cell ferroptosis jointly promoted the formation of an immune-tolerant environment in tumors.

Methods: A BIA model was developed to calculate the expected financial impact under two scenarios: the baseline scenario, which reflects the current mix of treatments without baricitinib, and the projected scenario, in which baricitinib is adopted. The model assumed that patients with severe AA and those with mild-to-moderate AA who did not respond to other treatments were eligible for baricitinib treatment.

Introduction: laparoscopic hepaticojejunostomy is a complex procedure indicated for different pathologies. Still, the laparoscopic approach is not the gold standard, but it is well known for its benefits regarding post operative recovery. We present our experience in 21 consecutive cases of laparoscopic hepaticojejunostomy done at King Fahad General Hospital in Jeddah.

The objective of this work was to investigate the possible association between cerebral venous sinus thrombosis (CVST) and both insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome. We aimed also to assess micro-RNA-122 serum levels in patients with CVST in comparison to controls.

The study also aimed to establish, using an animal model, the feasibility of employing treated water in drinking applications. ZEX-CS NPs were prepared by ionic gelation method.

Resveratrol, a natural polyphenol, possesses antioxidant and anticancer properties. Therefore, this in vitro study aimed to investigate the synergistic anti-proliferative and anti-inflammatory effects of MTX and resveratrol in human THP-1 cells.

Most SCLC patients (50-60 %) develop osteolytic bone metastases, significantly affecting their quality of life. Among several factors, environmental pollutant 2,3,7,8-Tetrachlorodibenzodioxin (TCDD) and kynurenine (Kyn), an endogenous ligand derived from tryptophan (Trp) metabolism, activate the aryl hydrocarbon receptor (AhR) and are responsible for SCLC progression and metastasis.

Significant practice variability exists in the corticosteroid treatment of children hospitalized for croup.
Objective: To evaluate the association of dexamethasone treatment regimen (1 vs.

Autophagy is the process of reusing the body's senescent and damaged cell components, which can be regarded as the cellular circulatory system. There are three distinct forms of autophagy: macro-autophagy, micro-autophagy, and chaperone-mediated autophagy. In the heart, autophagy is regulated mainly through mitophagy due to the metabolic changes of cardiomyocytes caused by ischemia and hypoxia.

Methods: Bioluminescent P. aeruginosa were encapsulated within alginate beads and dispersed in either Mueller-Hinton broth (MHB) or artificial sputum medium (ASM).
This study investigates the synthesis of flat sheet asymmetric Polysulfone (PSF) membranes using the Non-Solvent Induced Phase Separation (NIPS) method, enhanced by incorporating Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES) composed of Choline Chloride (ChCl) and DL-Malic Acid (MA). The research explores the individual and combined effects of ChCl and MA on membrane morphology and performance. Comprehensive characterization techniques, including Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy-Universal Attenuated Total Reflectance (FTIR-UATR), and Atomic Force Microscopy (AFM), were employed to analyze the structural and surface properties of the membranes.

Given the high global prevalence of disabilities in children, coupled with poor oral hygiene and a 45% rate of dental caries in this group, developing inclusive oral health strategies is critical. The review aims to synthesize literature on factors affecting oral healthcare improvement for disabled children, identifying barriers, facilitators and knowledge gaps.

Background: To date, the most commonly used endothermal ablation method is endovenous laser ablation (EVLA). The objective of this work is to assess the initial and short-term outcomes of a 1940 nm diode laser compared with 1470 nm diode laser utilization for the treatment of lower limb varicose veins.
Methods: This is a randomized controlled prospective study that included patients with varicose veins.
Background The coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) global pandemic prompted a significant use of intensive care resources for managing hypoxic respiratory failure. A substantial portion of these patients required mechanical ventilation. While intubation is common, its impact on mortality improvement has been questionable.

Previous studies have relied on cross-sectional and self-reported survey data or polysomnograms, which have limitations with respect to data granularity, sample size and longitudinal information. Here, using objectively measured, longitudinal sleep data from commercial wearable devices linked to electronic health record data from the All of Us Research Program, we show that sleep patterns, including sleep stages, duration and regularity, are associated with chronic disease incidence.
