Background: Tremor in essential tremor and in tremor-dominant Parkinson's disease is assessed by subjective observations in patients undergoing focused ultrasound thalamotomy, a minimally invasive procedure intended to alleviate tremor in these patients.
Objective: To develop an objective tool for tremor analysis to be used before and after focused ultrasound thalamotomy treatment in the treated hand (contralateral to ablation) and non-treated (ipsilateral to ablation).
Methods: Using image processing and signal processing that utilized images of a Archimedes spiral drawing, we created a tool to analyze tremor.
Introduction: Idiopathic intracranial hypertension (IIH) is known to elevate cardiovascular disease (CVD) risk, but the extent to which obesity and IIH-specific factors contribute to this risk is not well understood. WE aim to separate the effects of obesity from IIH-specific factors on the risk of stroke and CVD, building on previous findings that indicate a two-fold increase in cardiovascular events in women with IIH compared to BMI-matched controls.
Methods: An obesity-adjusted risk analysis was conducted using Indirect Standardization based on data from a cohort study by Adderley et al.
Vitiligo is considered as depigmenting skin disorder where patches of skin losing their pigment. Lipocalin-2 (LCN2) is one of the Inflammatory adipokines that has a potential role in skin disorders and other inflammatory diseases as well. To measure the concentration level of LCN2 in vitiligo patients compared to healthy controls and to investigate its relation to disease activity and other clinical data to evaluate its role in the pathogenesis of the disease.

Hesperidin (HPN), a bioflavonoid found abundantly in citrus fruits, has numerous biological benefits, including regenerative and anti-inflammatory properties. The current in-vitro study aimed to assess the impact of HPN on the proliferation, wound healing, and functionality of periodontal cells in optimal and elevated glucose conditions.

Methods: We performed a retrospective cohort study using the TriNetX database, covering data from 2009 to August 2024.
This study was designed to evaluate the effect of substituting alfalfa hay with graded levels panicum maximum without or with graded levels of spirulina supplementation on rumen fermentation and nutrient degradability. The evaluation was achieved through an in vitro study, rumen fluid was obtained from adult sheep aged 2 years (fed clover hay), immediately after slaughter. Experimental diets were formulated as isonitrogenous and isocaloric and contained 40% forage.

Dysphagia, difficulty in swallowing, is the most common symptom. Diagnosis is primarily made through X-ray studies using contrast material during swallowing.

This goal has been pursued predominantly through structural or "task-free" resting-state functional neuroimaging. The former has elucidated the material foundations of behavioral decline, and the latter has provided key insight into how functional brain networks change with age.

This study aimed to assess the weight changes and its relation to the dietary habits and physical activity among adult Egyptian population during the second wave of COVID-19 pandemic.
Materials And Methods: This cross-sectional study was conducted using anonymous online questionnaire.
Introduction: This study investigated low-density scalp electrical source imaging of the ictal onset zone and interictal spike ripple high-frequency oscillation networks using source coherence maps in the pediatric epilepsy surgical workup. Intracranial monitoring, the gold standard for determining epileptogenic zones, has limited spatial sampling. Source coherence analysis presents a promising new non-invasive technique.

Terahertz pulsed imaging (TPI) can be utilised to study the liquid penetration into the porous tablet matrix in real time. Using polymer-coated flat-faced tablets with anhydrous lactose or mannitol, we show that when the tablet matrix contains anhydrous material, the anhydrous form transforms to the solid-state hydrate form in the tablet core while the immediate release coating dissolves.

We studied nationwide trends in IIH epidemiology, treatment patterns, and associated outcomes using a large-scale database analysis within the United States (US).
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis using the TriNetX US Collaborative Network database (1990-2024).
Background/objectives: Women's health represents an integral component of public health. With breast cancer being the first worldwide and cervical cancer the fourth most common cancer among women, and while habits of intimate hygiene remain mediocre, it is crucial to address these issues. We aimed to evaluate the efficacy of a community-based intervention on the knowledge and preventive measures (K&P) of women toward breast cancer, cervical cancer, and intimate hygiene.

This study, taking this scheme into consideration, concentrates on some conventional and Bayesian estimation tasks for parameter and reliability indicators, where the underlying distribution is the Weibull-exponential. From a traditional point of view, the likelihood methodology is explored for gaining point and approximate confidence interval estimates.

However, it is associated with postoperative adverse events (AEs) such as pain, bleeding, and perforation. Dexmedetomidine, an α2-receptor agonist, has emerged as a promising adjunct sedative for ESD under moderate sedation, offering anxiolysis and analgesia.

The high fat content in KD lowers the oesophageal sphincter tone, slows gastric emptying, and decreases intestinal transit time. The primary aim of the current clinical trial was to study the effect of L-carnitine supplementation on gastric emptying in children with drug resistant epilepsy (DRE) on KD.

The frontal cortex is critical for adaptive decisions, but its neurons show mixed selectivity to task features and their uncertainty estimates, raising the question of how errors are attributed to their most likely causes. Here, by recording neural responses from tree shrews (Tupaia belangeri) performing a hierarchical decision task with rule reversals, we find that the mediodorsal thalamus independently represents cueing and rule uncertainty.

In renal cell carcinoma (RCC), its prognostic significance has been evaluated in a small number of studies. This study was designed to ascertain the prognostic value of ISc based on CD3+ and CD8+ T cells in patients with RCC.

Introduction: Mitral regurgitation (MR) is a common valvular abnormality that can be exacerbated by atrial fibrillation (AF). Mitral regurgitation is classified based on mitral leaflet motion and can be either primary (organic) or secondary (functional). This study investigates the relationship between AF and functional MR, specifically assessing whether cardioversion to sinus rhythm influences MR severity and echocardiographic indices.
