Introduction: Intramedullary femoral nails (IMFNs) need to be removed for subsequent joint replacement, refracture, nonunion, or infection. The tools used to extract newer IMFNs may not be suited for removal of older implants, especially if broken. The purpose of this study was to describe a novel technique in femoral nail extraction when primary measures fail and a report on 6 cases where it was used.

However, leveraging this effect using real-time phase-tuned tACS has not been feasible so far due to stimulation artifacts preventing continuous phase tracking.
Objectives And Hypothesis: We aimed to develop a system that tracks and adapts the phase lag between tACS and ongoing parietooccipital alpha oscillations in real-time.
The accurate estimation of gas viscosity remains a pivotal concern for petroleum engineers, exerting substantial influence on the modeling efficacy of natural gas operations. Due to their time-consuming and costly nature, experimental measurements of gas viscosity are challenging. Data-based machine learning (ML) techniques afford a resourceful and less exhausting substitution, aiding research and industry at gas modeling that is incredible to reach in the laboratory.

Methods: A retrospective study was performed on 32 ABNs that had been implanted for long bone infections after intramedullary nailing. All ABNs were manufactured intraoperatively by the treating surgeon using 2 grams of vancomycin and single package of Tobramycin Simplex Cement (Stryker, Kalamazoo, MI).
Background: Goat rumen microbial communities are perceived as one of the most potential biochemical reservoirs of multi-functional enzymes, which are applicable to enhance wide array of bioprocesses such as the hydrolysis of cellulose and hemi-cellulose into fermentable sugar for biofuel and other value-added biochemical production. Even though, the limited understanding of rumen microbial genetic diversity and the absence of effective screening culture methods have impeded the full utilization of these potential enzymes. In this study, we applied culture independent metagenomics sequencing approach to isolate, and identify microbial communities in goat rumen, meanwhile, clone and functionally characterize novel cellulase and xylanase genes in goat rumen bacterial communities.

Indirect restorations may represent the most suitable therapeutic solutions for patients presenting MIH with tooth restorative procedures. This systematic review aims to determine the feasibility of indirect restorations.

Among the materials proposed for their replacement, poly(etheretherketone) may present interesting properties, especially in removable dentures' frames. The purpose of this study is to evaluate fracture resistance of PEEK posts-and-cores compared to non-metallic CAD/CAM materials and fiber glass posts.

We illustrated this role by reviewing, analyzing, and correlating the findings with the results of the included studies to reach clear evidence.
Methods: A comprehensive search of electronic databases (Scopus, PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane, and GHL databases) was performed for all studies using the following strategy till April 2021 with the search terms: Biofilm and Middle ear effusion.
Determining Secondary Structure Elements (SSEs) for any protein is crucial as an intermediate step for experimental tertiary structure determination. SSEs are identified using popular tools such as DSSP and STRIDE. These tools use atomic information to locate hydrogen bonds to identify SSEs.

A Savonius wind turbine is a drag-based vertical axis wind turbine (VAWT) that is known to have low noise levels and good starting characteristics even at low wind speeds. Its disadvantage lies in its low efficiency or low coefficient of performance.

Behavioral and indirect physiological evidence indicates that phase-dependent constructive and destructive interference between the applied electric field and brain oscillations at the stimulation frequency may play an important role, but in vivo validation during stimulation was unfeasible because stimulation artifacts impede single-trial assessment of brain oscillations during tACS. Here, we attenuated stimulation artifacts to provide evidence for phase-dependent enhancement and suppression of visually evoked steady state responses (SSR) during amplitude-modulated tACS (AM-tACS).

Blood components then undergo molecular analysis by flow cytometry or sequencing techniques and can be used as a powerful tool for prognostic and predictive purposes in myeloid malignancies. There is evidence and more is evolving about the quantification and identification of cell-based and gene-based biomarkers in myeloid malignancies to monitor treatment response.

Introduction And Objectives: CAD/CAM prostheses may be produced in prosthetic laboratories or directly by practitioners. Quality of ceramic polishing procedures is a controversial topic and it would be interesting for practitioners working with CAD/CAM devices to determine which method is the most efficient regarding finishing and polishing. This systematic review aims to evaluate the impact of different finishing and polishing procedures on the surface of milled ceramics.

Case: Unstable pelvic ring fractures in pregnancy are an uncommon injury. Successful treatment of these patients with an INFIX device is even less common, with sparse literature to document the patient outcomes. We found no literature documenting the acute management of a pregnant patient with an INFIX device with (1) dynamic changes recorded, such as increasing pubic symphysis diastasis, and (2) restoration of normal symphyseal anatomy after birth and INFIX removal.

Background: This study aimed to analyze the behavior of acute invasive fungal rhinosinusitis (AIFRS) associated with COVID-19 infection as there has been an increase in the rate of AIFRS cases in the last two years, and many reports connected this rising with the COVID-19 infection. We studied most factors that may impact the prognosis as a trial to find the most affecting factors to improve the outcomes.
Methods: It was a retrospective observational study that included cases from four tertiary referral institutions between November 2020 to February 2022.
: Pelvic nonunion and malunion have been documented as rare complications in pelvic fractures and literature describing these topics is severely limited. Articles dedicated solely to pelvic malunion are nearly nonexistent. We conducted a literature search with the goal of providing a summary of the definition, causes, treatment strategies, and outcomes of pelvic malunion correction.

To understand how it operates, it is essential to understand the link between neural activity and behavior. Experimental investigation of that link requires tools to interact with neural activity during behavior.

Despite the growing number of ASOs in clinical development, there are still uncertainties regarding their dosing, primarily around their distribution and kinetics in the brain following intrathecal injection. The challenge of taking measurements within the delicate structures of the central nervous system (CNS) necessitates the use of non-invasive nuclear imaging, such as positron emission tomography (PET).
