Clean hands: prevention of typhoid fever in rural communities in Egypt.

Typhoid fever is a serious public health problem in Egypt. Effective prevention strategies include the promotion of handwashing. This study explores factors that influence handwashing practices in the Egyptian setting and makes recommendations on how to use this information in a handwashing campaign.
