Background: Professionalism in healthcare is crucial for maintaining patient trust and delivering high-quality care. Unprofessional behaviors among house officers (recent medical graduates undergoing training) raise concerns about their impact on healthcare outcomes. This study aims to assess the prevalence and perceptions of unprofessional behavior, as well as participation in it, among house officers in both public and private hospitals in Pakistan.

Surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR) has long been the standard treatment for AS. However, it poses significant risks, particularly in older patients with comorbidities.

Septal cartilage is usually the first option for rhinoplasty, but in cases where it is insufficient, rib cartilage might be used, which is the focus of the current study. The article details the surgical techniques for rib cartilage harvesting, highlighting the preference for the seventh rib done under general anaesthesia.

The incidence of end-stage renal disease (ESRD) is approximately 100 per million population. Renal transplantation remains the cornerstone treatment for ESRD, with a projected 20-year survival rate of 60%.

Inhibition of the α-amylase enzyme is one therapeutic approach in lowering glucose levels in the blood to manage diabetes mellitus. The objective of this study was to synthesize short α-/β-mixed peptides in the solution phase.

Both NMD and NDD are a heterogeneous group of genetic conditions. Genetic variations in the SGCA and SIL1 genes have been implicated in causing Limb Girdle Muscular Dystrophy (LGMD), a type of neuromuscular disorder, and Marinesco-Sjögren Syndrome (MSS) which is a neurodegenerative disorder.

Chronic subdural haematoma (CSDH) is a well-known condition characterised by the accumulation of old, liquefied blood under the dura mater, usually following minor head trauma. However, the atypical presentation of CSDH in a young patient without predisposing factors and the association with urinary incontinence challenge conventional understanding.

Although infrequent, neuroglycopenic symptoms associated with insulinomas have been reported, often leading to delayed diagnoses. Here, we present the case of a 31-year-old male with pancreatic insulinoma who experienced recurrent episodes of seizures and confusion preceded by diaphoresis, tremors, and palpitations.

We describe a thermoresponsive, antioxidant macromolecule poly(polyethylene glycol citrate---isopropylacrylamide) (PPCN) to protect islet redox status and function and to enable extrahepatic omentum islet engraftment. PPCN solution transitions from a liquid to a hydrogel at body temperature.

We report a case of late-onset LS in a 42-year-old female who presented with protracted gastrointestinal manifestations, chronic headaches, ataxia, and loss of consciousness. Brain magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed hyperintensities in the bilateral basal ganglia and brain stem.

Concerns have been raised over the reports of myeloperoxidase/perinuclear (MPO/p) ANCA GN following the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) vaccination. Our study provides a comprehensive insight into perinuclear anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibodies (p-ANCA) GN after COVID-19 vaccination.

When these lesions develop in the genital and perianal regions, there is a potential risk of progression to squamous cell carcinoma or mucinous adenocarcinoma. The tumor may appear in the perianal area, perineum, or buttocks.

Objectives: As a result of recent biomedical advancements, organ donation continues to save and enhance countless lives globally.Yet,the gap between the organ supply and demand persists, leading to approximately 17 people dying each day waiting for an organ transplant and another person being added to the transplant waiting list every 9 minutes. This gap persists, in part, because of ethical and practical concerns arising from ambiguities surrounding death determination before donation and the dead donor rule.

In this study, we describe the development and employment of a new functional assay that measures neutralizing antibodies for SARS-CoV-2 and present longitudinal data illustrating the impact of age, sex and comorbidities on the kinetics and strength of vaccine-induced antibody responses for key variants in an Asian volunteer cohort. We also present an accurate quantitation of serological responses for SARS-CoV-2 that exploits a unique set of in-house, recombinant human monoclonal antibodies targeting the viral Spike and nucleocapsid proteins and demonstrate a reduction in neutralizing antibody titres across all groups 6 months post-vaccination.
