Peritoneal Tuberculosis Mimicking Ovarian Malignancy: A Case Report.

Peritoneal tuberculosis (TB) is a rare extrapulmonary form of TB that often mimics ovarian malignancy, posing diagnostic challenges. This report presents a 16-year-old Jordanian female with abdominal distension, weakness, anorexia, and night sweats. Initial imaging, including contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT), revealed compartmentalized ascites, peritoneal thickening, and enlarged ovaries with masses, suggesting possible ovarian malignancy.

This case study provides an insightful examination of the management of high-risk pulmonary embolism (PE) in a 27-year-old pregnant patient following in vitro fertilization (IVF). Overlapping symptoms of PE and typical pregnancy manifestations, coupled with concerns about radiation exposure from diagnostic imaging, presented unique diagnostic challenges. Despite the heightened risk of thrombosis during pregnancy and elevated D-dimer levels, a conservative approach was strategically employed.

Clinical Dilemmas in Immune Thrombocytopenic Purpura With Diffuse Alveolar Hemorrhage: Diagnosis, Treatment, and Outcomes.

This report elucidates a unique case of a 39-year-old female with immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) who developed a rare and severe complication: diffuse alveolar hemorrhage (DAH). Despite initial treatments for ITP, the patient experienced fluctuating platelet (PLT) counts and shortness of breath, which were later identified as symptoms of DAH. An urgent splenectomy improved the patient's platelet counts and overall condition.
