The stereoselective 5--trig oxygenative cyclization of α,β-unsaturated oximes was achieved using molecular oxygen (O) and a manganese catalyst. Several 4-hydroxy-4,5-dihydroisoxazoles were obtained in high yields by directly incorporating O from the atmosphere (eliminating the necessity for a pure oxygen environment) and using an unprecedentedly low loading of Mn(acac) (as little as 0.020 mol %) without additional additives.

Pulicatin F (1) and (±)-pulicatin G were synthesized and their activities were evaluated. Notch activation of CPA (3) was investigated using Western blot and RT-PCR.

A combination of intra-patient dose escalation and immunosuppressive treatment is widely used to mitigate CRS. Studies suggest that CRS after subsequent doses of CD3 bispecific constructs is less severe than after the priming dose, and that step-up dosing reduces cytokine levels in animals and humans.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFA new type of self-sustained divertor oscillation is discovered in the Large Helical Device stellarator, where the peripheral plasma is detached from material diverters by means of externally applied perturbation fields. The divertor oscillation is found to be a self-regulation of an isolated magnetic field structure (the magnetic island) width induced by a drastic change in a poloidal inhomogeneity of the plasma radiation across the detachment-attachment transitions. A predator-prey model between the magnetic island width and a self-generated local plasma current (the bootstrap current) is introduced to describe the divertor oscillation, which successfully reproduces the experimental observations.

While the long-term prognosis has greatly improved, better long-term survival is still necessary. The type I interferon (IFN) signature, a prominent feature of SLE, is not an ideal therapeutic target or outcome predictor.

Leiomyosarcomas originating from the lesser omentum have not been reported since immunohistochemical staining for c-kit has been used for the diagnosis of mesenchymal abdominal tumors. They are yet to be reported since gastrointestinal stromal tumors were categorized.

An 81-year-old male underwent an appendectomy for acute appendicitis and an ileotransverse colostomy for postoperative obstruction when he was 14 years old. He underwent radiation therapy for prostate cancer when he was 75 years old.

Tracer-encapsulated solid pellets (TESPELs) have demonstrated some results for impurity injection for fusion-reactor plasma studies [N. Tamura , J.

To isolate therapeutic antibodies that recognize novel targets other than CD antigens, we constructed a phage display combinatorial antibody Fab library from bone marrow lymphocytes of B-cell lymphoma patient. To eliminate antibodies reactive with known B-cell lymphoma antigen, non-hematopoietic and patient's sera reactive HeLaS3 cells was selected as a target of whole cell panning.

Recent technological advances in mass spectrometry-based phosphoproteomics have enabled us to measure network-wide signaling dynamics in a comprehensive and quantitative manner. As conventional protein-protein interaction (PPI) information-based network analysis is insufficient to systematically analyze phosphorylation site-dependent complex interaction dynamics, here we develop and evaluate a platform to provide a high-resolution molecular network description for kinase-substrate interactome analysis.

Although glioblastoma stem cells lose their cancer stem cell properties during cultivation in serum-containing medium, little is known about the molecular mechanisms regulating signaling alteration in relation to reduction of stem cell-like characteristics. To elucidate the global phosphorylation-related signaling events, we performed a SILAC-based quantitative phosphoproteome analysis of serum-induced dynamics in glioblastoma stem cells established from the tumor tissues of the patient.

While electrons are heated mainly inside the current sheet by the Ohmic heating power, ions are heated mainly by fast shock or viscosity damping of the reconnection outflow in the two downstream areas. The magnetic reconnection converts the energy of reconnecting magnetic field B(p) mostly to the ion thermal energy, indicating that the reconnection heating energy is proportional to B(p)(2).

The frequency is swept downward and upward sequentially via the time variation in the maximum of q. The eigenmodes calculated by ideal MHD theory are consistent with the experimental data.

We report a patient with an unusual fracture which could not be classified as a Bennett's-type or Rolando's-type injury. The aetiology of the fracture pattern is proposed and treatment considerations are discussed.

One state is the healed magnetic island with a zero island width. The second state is the saturated magnetic island with partial flattening of the T(e) profile.

Materials And Methods: Between 1999 and 2004, PTPVE was performed in 22 patients with hilar cholangiocarcinoma (mean age, 67 years; range, 57-77 y; 16 men and six women). Percutaneous puncture of the right portal vein was performed under ultrasound guidance.
Phlegmonous gastritis is a rare inflammatory lesion in which bacterial infection occurs in the gastric wall. A case of phlegmonous gastritis producing an intramural filling defect in the stomach is presented. Endoscopy showed edematous and reddened gastric mucosa with a mass lesion in the gastric body and antrum.

Some hemophilic patients in Japan suffer from infections with both human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and hepatitis virus because they received contaminated nonheated blood products. Coinfection with HIV appears to accelerate the course of chronic hepatitis. Although powerful antiviral therapy was introduced as HIV treatment and the prognosis of HIV patients was dramatically improved, the risk of rapid progression of hepatitis and carcinogenesis remains for the patients.

This treatment strategy has been used for both early and advanced gastric cancers, and substantial increases in survival time have been reported. In advanced gastric cancer, lymphatic spread is reported to be one of the most relevant prognostic factors for gastric cancer resected for cure.

The plasma current, which is driven by neutral beam injection, reduces the beta threshold of the sawtooth oscillation. When the central q value is increased due to the plasma current, the core region crashes, and, when it is decreased, the edge region crashes annularly.

We have demonstrated in vitro and in vivo that the exogenous addition of rat and human Reg gene products, Reg/REG proteins, induced beta-cell replication via the Reg receptor and thereby ameliorated experimental diabetes. In the present study, we produced Reg knockout mice by homologous recombination.
