Introduction: Dental implants' efficacy is influenced by the quality and quantity of the osseous tissue present at the site designated for dental implants. Therefore, this study was conducted with the primary objective of assessing marginal bone loss around mandibular posterior dental implants at six and 18 months after prosthesis placement, compared with the contralateral natural tooth. The secondary objective was to determine the correlation between various factors such as periodontal status, age, gender, duration between first and second-stage surgery, and marginal bone loss.

Country-led control measures to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, have been diverse. Originating in Wuhan, China, in December, 2019, the COVID-19 outbreak was declared a pandemic by WHO on March 11, 2020. In recognition of the severity of the outbreak, and having the longest shared border with China, the Government of Mongolia activated the State Emergency Committee in January, 2020, on the basis of the 2017 Disaster Protection Law.

The mutations concerned with non-small cell lung cancer involving epidermal growth factor receptor of tyrosine kinase family have primarily targeted. EGFR inhibitors binding allosterically to C797S mutant EGFR enzyme have been developed. Here, database building, library screening performing R-group enumeration and scaffold hopping technique for increasing the EGFR binding affinity of compounds have been carried out.

A series of new sulfonamide analogues of 6/7-aminoflavones were synthesized by using molecular hybridization approach. These new sulfonamide analogues were screened for antiproliferative activity against human hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG-2), human lung cancer cell line (A-549), human colorectal adenocarcinoma (Caco-2) cancer cell lines. Compounds 5p, 5q, 5t, 5v, 5w and 5x exhibited good anticancer activity against selected cancer cell lines.

Background: A system of clinical records accessible by both patients and their attending healthcare professionals facilitates continuity of care and patient-centred care, thereby improving clinical outcomes. The need for such a system has become greater as the proportion of patients with chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) requiring ongoing care increases. This is particularly true in low-income and middle-income countries where the burden of these diseases is greatest.

Analysis of surveillance data for 2010-2016 in eastern Ontario, Canada, demonstrates the rapid northward spread of Ixodes scapularis ticks and Borrelia burgdorferi, followed by increasing human Lyme disease incidence. Most spread occurred during 2011-2013. Continued monitoring is essential to identify emerging risk areas in this region.

Nearly half of the countries in the world are in the process of reforming and strengthening their health care systems. More recently, even low-income and middle-income countries such as Mongolia have focused increasing attention on achieving universal health coverage (UHC). At this critical point, it is necessary to track recent progress and adjust health care strategies and planning.

Background: To understand the effect of economic growth on health, we investigated the trend in socio-economic and regional determinants of child health in Mongolia. This Central Asian country had the fastest economic growth amongst low and middle-income countries (LMICs) from 2000 to 2010 and a healthcare system in transition.

Methods: Data was from Mongolian multiple indicator cluster surveys (MICS) in 2000, 2005 and 2010.

Background: Regulating the behavior of private providers in the context of mixed health systems has become increasingly important and challenging in many developing countries moving towards universal health coverage including Mongolia. This study examines the current regulatory architecture for private healthcare in Mongolia exploring its role for improving accessibility, affordability, and quality of private care and identifies gaps in policy design and implementation.

Methods: Qualitative research methods were used including documentary review, analysis, and in-depth interviews with 45 representatives of key actors involved in and affected by regulations in Mongolia's mixed health system, along with long-term participant observation.

Background: Many paraclinical methods are available today for an accurate assessment of the periodontal status prior and during the periodontal treatment. The microbial-enzymatic N-benzoyl-DL-arginine-2-napthylamide (BANA) test is one of the modern alternatives to bacterial cultures. It detects the presence of three periodontal pathogens in the subgingival plaque (Porphyromonas gingivalis, Treponema denticola and Tannerella forsythia).

In 2005, the Ministry of Health (MoH) in Mongolia initiated the process of developing its Health Sector Strategic Master Plan (HSSMP), using a wide-ranging consultative process, driven by the MoH, and requiring participation from all levels of health facilities, other ministries, donor agencies and NGOs. Among other objectives, the MoH sought to coordinate the disparate inputs from key donors through the HSSMP, aligning them with the Plan's structure. This research explores the extent to which the HSSMP process served as a mechanism for effective aid coordination while promoting ownership and capacity building and the lessons learned for the wider international development community.

An aberrant frenum is postulated to create functional and aesthetic problems. Archer's 'classical frenectomy' is an extensive procedure including the excision of fibers, interdental papilla, and exposure of alveolar bone up to the palatine papilla. The resultant delayed healing, loss of interdental papilla, and abnormal scar led towards the conservative approaches like Edward's frenectomy, frenum relocation by Z-plasty and free gingival graft; with their technical and aesthetic limitations.
