Determination of the relationship between obesity prejudice status and eating behaviors of faculty of health sciences students.

Background: People living with obesity receive treatment services from health professionals for their weight or other health needs. In order for the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences, who will be a member of the health team in the future, to raise awareness of the society, it is necessary to first determine their obesity prejudices and eating habits.

Methods: The study is a cross-sectional and descriptive research.

Movement and health beyond care, MoviS: study protocol for a randomized clinical trial on nutrition and exercise educational programs for breast cancer survivors.

Background: Breast cancer (BC) is the most common invasive cancer in women, and exercise can significantly improve the outcomes of BC survivors. MoviS (Movement and Health Beyond Care) is a randomized controlled trial aimed to evaluate the potential health benefits of exercise and proper nutritional habits. This study aims to assess the efficacy of aerobic exercise training in improving quality of life (QoL) and health-related factors in high-risk BC.

Does the Thymus Index Predict COVID-19 Severity?

Background: The COVID-19 (coronavirus disease 2019) pandemic is a global health emergency that is straining health care resources. Identifying patients likely to experience severe illness would allow more targeted use of resources. This study aimed to investigate the association between the thymus index (TI) on thorax computed tomography (CT) and prognosis in patients with COVID-19.

The Refraction Assessment and the Electronic Trial Frame Measurement during Standing or Sitting Position Can Affect Postural Stability.

Vision has been shown to influence body posture. The purpose of this study is to investigate the correlations between visual acuity and body postural control both in a standing and seated position. This cohort study included 37 patients examined using Adaptica's (Italy) Kaleidos and VisionFit.

Comparison of ultrasound guided Erector Spinae Plane Block and quadratus lumborum block for postoperative analgesia in laparoscopic cholecystectomy patients; a prospective randomized study.

Study Objective: Erector Spinae Plane Block (ESPB) is a recently described block. Both ESPB and Quadratus Lumborum block type II (QLB-II) have been reported to provide effective postoperative analgesia in patients undergoing laparoscopic cholecystectomy (LC). In this study, we compared the postoperative analgesic effects of ESPB and QLB-II in patients undergoing LC.

The Relation of Parafibromin Expression with Clinicopathological Factors in Invasive Breast Carcinomas.

Objective: We aimed to find the relationship between parafibromin expression and clinicopathologic variables of breast carcinoma.

Material And Method: Ninety-seven cases of invasive breast carcinoma diagnosed at our department between the years 2010-2013 were included in the study. The parafibromin expression state was compared with the estrogen receptor, progesterone receptor, cerbB2, Ki67 results, and the clinicopathological variables.

To what extent estimated or measured GFR could predict subclinical graft fibrosis: a comparative prospective study with protocol biopsies.

Monitoring of allograft function entails methods more accurate than serum creatinine and creatinine-based GFR equations (eGFR). This prospective trial aimed at investigating the diagnostic accuracy of creatinine- and cystatin C-based eGFR with measured GFR (mGFR) and compared them with graft fibrosis detected by protocol biopsies (PBx). Forty-four kidney transplant recipients were enrolled.

Peer-victimization during physical education and enjoyment of physical activity.

This study examined the relations between peer-victimization during sport practice and physical activity enjoyment. 395 students (219 boys, 176 girls) from a middle school, ages 12 to 13 years (M = 12.2), were surveyed.

Impact of histopathology on the outcome of D1/D2 gastrectomies with R0 resection.

Aims: The primary objective of this study was to clarify the influence of histotype on the outcome of D1/D2 gastrectomized patients with pathologically proven R0 resection. The secondary objective was to demonstrate overall survival (OS), disease-free survival (DFS), and locoregional recurrence rates following standard curative surgery.

Patients And Methods: All patients had either pure signet-ring cell carcinoma (SRCC)/poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma (PDC) or moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma (MDC) of the stomach, preoperative radiologic evidence of locoregional disease, and no history of neoadjuvant therapy.

Neurologic complications of renal transplant.

Objectives: Neurologic problems have a major effect on the survival and quality of life in renal transplant recipients. This study sought to review the incidence and character of neurologic complications after renal transplant.

Materials And Methods: Medical records of 319 renal transplant recipients admitted to the Transplant Outpatient Clinic were reviewed retrospectively for neurologic complications.

Search for neutral minimal supersymmetric standard model Higgs bosons decaying to tau pairs in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV.

A search for neutral minimal supersymmetric standard model (MSSM) Higgs bosons in pp collisions at the LHC at a center-of-mass energy of 7 TeV is presented. The results are based on a data sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 36  pb(-1) recorded by the CMS experiment. The search uses decays of the Higgs bosons to tau pairs.

Search for supersymmetry in pp collisions at √7 TeV in events with two photons and missing transverse energy.

A search for supersymmetry in the context of general gauge-mediated breaking with the lightest neutralino as the next-to-lightest supersymmetric particle and the gravitino as the lightest is presented. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 36 pb(-1) recorded by the CMS experiment at the LHC. The search is performed by using events containing two or more isolated photons, at least one hadronic jet, and significant missing transverse energy.

Measurement of dijet angular distributions and search for quark compositeness in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV.

Dijet angular distributions are measured over a wide range of dijet invariant masses in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV, at the CERN LHC. The event sample, recorded with the CMS detector, corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 36 pb⁻¹. The data are found to be in good agreement with the predictions of perturbative QCD, and yield no evidence of quark compositeness.

Search for pair production of second-generation scalar leptoquarks in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV.

A search for pair production of second-generation scalar leptoquarks in the final state with two muons and two jets is performed using proton-proton collision data at √s = 7 TeV collected by the CMS detector at the LHC. The data sample used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 34 pb⁻¹. The number of observed events is in good agreement with the predictions from the standard model processes.

Search for pair production of first-generation scalar leptoquarks in pp collisions at √s = 7 TeV.

A search for pair production of first-generation scalar leptoquarks is performed in the final state containing two electrons and two jets using proton-proton collision data at √s = 7 TeV. The data sample used corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 33 pb⁻¹ collected with the CMS detector at the CERN LHC. The number of observed events is in good agreement with the predictions for the standard model background processes, and an upper limit is set on the leptoquark pair production cross section times β² as a function of the leptoquark mass, where β is the branching fraction of the leptoquark decay to an electron and a quark.

Longitudinal surveillance of mid- and distal rectum cancer in a subset of patients with specific histology.

Objective: A prospective study in 82 consecutive patients with mid- and distal rectal adenocarcinomas having specific histology and tumor stage was conducted to asses impact of curative surgery.

Methods: Patients with moderately differentiated adenocarcinoma (MDAC) with or without mucinous differentiation underwent curative resection. Forty patients were in Stage B1-B2 and 42 patients were in Stage C1-C2.

Dijet azimuthal decorrelations in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV.

Measurements of dijet azimuthal decorrelations in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV using the CMS detector at the CERN LHC are presented. The analysis is based on an inclusive dijet event sample corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 2.9 pb⁻¹.

Treatment of first acute rejection episode: systematic review of level I evidence.

The primary objective of this review was to clarify the efficacy of commercially available and tested agents for the treatment of first acute rejection episode (ARE) and particularly a steroid-resistant rejection (SRR) seeking to provide generalizable level I evidence for clinical practice. The inclusion criteria were restricted to prospective randomized trials (PRT) that (1) reported outcomes of first, biopsy-proven ARE based on Banff 97 diagnostic criteria; (2) excluded borderline changes that were not considered to be acute rejection; (3) included protocol biopsies confirming reversal or recurrence of rejection; (4) utilized calcineurin inhibitor-based double or triple baseline immunosuppression prior to and after the reversal of ARE and possessed Jadad scores at least 3 upon final assessment by both reviewers. Two PRTs compared rabbit-anti-thymocyte globulin (ATG) to low-dose corticosteroids or OKT3, following a first rejection episode in renal transplantation patients.

Measurement of the B(+) production cross section in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=7 TeV.

Measurements of the total and differential cross sections dσ/dp(T)(B) and dσ/dy(B) for B(+) mesons produced in pp collisions at sqrt[s]=7  TeV are presented. The data correspond to an integrated luminosity of 5.8  pb(-1) collected by the CMS experiment operating at the LHC.

Measurement of the isolated prompt photon production cross section in pp collisions at √s=7 TeV.

The differential cross section for the inclusive production of isolated prompt photons has been measured as a function of the photon transverse energy E(T)(γ) in pp collisions at √s=7  TeV using data recorded by the CMS detector at the LHC. The data sample corresponds to an integrated luminosity of 2.9  pb(-1).
