Online assessment in two consequent semesters during COVID-19 pandemic: K-means clustering using data mining approach.

Background: Education and assessment have changed during the COVID-19 pandemic so that online courses replaced face-to-face classes to observe the social distance. The quality of online assessments conducted during the pandemic is an important subject to be addressed. In this study, the quality of online assessments held in two consecutive semesters was investigated.

Comparison of serum levels of vitamin D in periodontitis patients with and without type 2 diabetes and healthy subjects.

Objective: The purpose of this study is to find out the levels of serum vitamin D in periodontitis patients with and without type 2 diabetes and to compare them with healthy subjects.

Methods: In this study, 48 periodontitis patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (PDM), 53 periodontitis patients (P), and 42 controls who were in the age ranges of 30-50 years and had the entry requirements were selected. Plaque index, calculus index, modified gingival index, pocket depth, clinical attachment loss (CAL), and tooth loss were measured.

Background: Coronavirus disease 2019 is a new viral outbreak in the world. Dentists and their assistants are at greatest risk of exposure to the virus, due to close contact with patients and dealing with aerosols. Hence, the aim of this study was to compare the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and supplementary protective equipment (SPE) and observance of the principles of infection control (PIC) in dentists and their assistants before and after the corona crisis.

The effects of licorice containing diphenhydramine solution on recurrent aphthous stomatitis: A double-blind, randomized clinical trial.

Objectives: The aim of this study was to compare the efficacy of the diphenhydramine solution (DS) and diphenhydramine-containing glycyrrhiza glabra (DSG) in the treatment of recurrent aphthous stomatitis (RAS).

Design: It was a double-blind randomized clinical trial that was conducted from July to September 2018 at the Faculty of Dentistry, Birjand University of Medical Sciences, Birjand, Iran.

The Relationship between Agenesis of Third Molar and Craniofacial Morphology in Orthodontic Patients.

Aims And Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the association between third molar agenesis and craniofacial morphology in a group of Iranian orthodontic patients.

Materials And Methods: A total of 164 high-quality lateral cephalograms and panoramic radiographs were included in the study. Eighty-two radiographs with the absence of at least one-third molar were assigned to agenesis group and other 82 radiographic records were served as control group.

In-vitro evaluation of coronal microbial leakage after post space tooth preparation.

Background: The aim of this in-vitro study was to determine the occurrence of coronal microbial leakage in endodontically treated teeth that have been prepared for post space, and also determine the minimum and maximum time required for the permanent restoration of the teeth after post space preparation.
