Aim: To investigate the efficacy and safety of long-term adjusted low-dose gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist therapy (GnRH agonist drawback therapy) with nafarelin acetate in patients with uterine fibroids and/or adenomyosis with menstrual symptoms.

Methods: This single-center, retrospective, observational study initially included 118 patients with uterine fibroids and/or adenomyosis with menstrual symptoms who had received GnRH agonist (nafarelin acetate) drawback therapy for at least 7 months between 2010 and 2020. Blood hemoglobin level, maximum fibroid diameter, area of the corpus uteri, blood estradiol level, daily dosage of nafarelin acetate, and bone density in the lumbar spine and femoral neck were assessed before and after the treatment initiation.

This study reveals the pH-responsive behavior of collagen hydrogels prepared using ultraviolet (UV) irradiation with riboflavin as a photosensitizer. By varying the UV exposure time, we modulated the crosslinking density, thereby influencing the mechanical properties and pH responsiveness. Rheological analysis confirmed successful network formation, whereas swelling studies revealed significant pH-dependent behavior, with maximum swelling at a pH of four and minimal swelling above a pH of six, demonstrating partial reversibility over multiple pH cycles.

The rheological properties of a polyamide (PA) resin with low crystallinity were modified by melt-mixing it with a small amount of an alternative -olefin-maleic anhydride copolymer as a reactive compound. Because PA has a low melting point, rheological characterization was performed over a wide temperature range. Owing to the reaction between PA and the alternative -olefin-maleic anhydride copolymer, the blend sample behaved as a long-chain branched polymer in the molten state.

We report a case of fulminant hepatitis in a hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg)-positive patient with aggressive adult T-cell leukemia-lymphoma who received monotherapy with an anti-CCR4 monoclonal antibody, mogamulizumab, with decreased hepatitis B virus (HBV)- DNA levels by entecavir prophylaxis. Although HBV reactivation-related hepatitis was considered in the differential diagnosis, the patient did not meet the conventional criteria for HBV reactivation and was finally diagnosed with drug-induced hepatitis. Considering that the immunoenhancing effects of mogamulizumab can lead to HBV reactivation-related hepatitis in HBsAg-positive patients, we should differentiate drug-induced hepatitis from HBV reactivation, especially in patients receiving immunomodulatory drugs, if HBV-DNA levels are reduced by antiviral prophylaxis.
