This cross-sectional study investigated whether depression, self-esteem, and resilience (mental health indicators) are associated with some psychological features of sexuality (sexual fear, sexual anxiety, sexual dissatisfaction, and sexual body image worries) in a sample of 462 transgender men and women from Brazil. Pearson's correlations were performed between all continuous variables in the study. Those that were significantly associated with the psychological features of sexuality in previous analyses were tested as independent variables in multiple linear regression models.

This article aims to analyze how expressions of sexuality and gender emerge in the legal proceedings that determine the fate of individuals at the interface between crime and madness. The text explores the criminal proceedings against persons in mental distress that have committed crimes, or so-called "criminally insane" patients, and who are subject to security measures. Using genealogy as the methodological approach, the article analyzes the conditions underlying the source and emergence of the "abnormal", a figure produced and scrutinized by forensic medical discourse.

Few studies dedicated their analysis to the impact of parental support on transgender people, even though this is an important aspect in creating a safe environment on which these individuals can build their identity. In addition, the link between family support, TGD identity and homelessness is not completely established.

The objective of this study was to perform a systematic review of articles that followed up the psychological outcomes of interventions in patients with disorders of sexual development. The analysis focused on the methodological quality of the studies and the assumptions on the evaluation of the intervention outcomes. The review signaled the need for better consideration about the complexity of intersexuality and for a shift from the anatomical/functional/aesthetic to the subjective outcomes related to patient's quality of life.

Since it was coined in the 1970s, in the United States, the term "homophobia" has been invoked to define the prejudice against nonheterosexual orientation. Besides the US, the phenomenon has been detected in many contemporary societies, including Brazil. Prejudice against nonheterosexual orientation is strongly associated with the historical and social contexts in which it is embedded, which means that the term should not be used without a clear definition of its local specificities.

The aim of this study was to compare the sensitivity of the serological level of anti-p53 antibodies in breast cancer patients and to correlate its expression level with patient age, histological stage and grade of tumor differentiation. Total p53 protein expression (mutant and wild-type) was also determined in the breast cancer tissues using immunohistochemistry (IHC). The serological levels of mutant p53 expression were found to be age-dependent, reaching the highest level at 50 years of age.

The article aims to explore the influence of health work in subjectification processes. The notion of history commonly used in health-related scientific output is based on an evolutionist and developmental logic. As a counterpoint, the genealogical approach used in this article and based on Michel Foucault highlights the notions of discontinuity, event, and the production of truth as tools to rethink the ethical and political implications involved in the production of knowledge, practices, and subjects.
