Efficacy of Hyaluronidase in the Mannitol Extravasation Induced Compartment Syndrome-A Case Report and Review of Literature.

Mannitol is one of the indispensable drugs in neurosurgery to manage the raised intracranial pressure. Though considered safe, extravasation of mannitol into the tissues can cause considerable morbidity with the consequent development of compartment syndrome. We report a case of a 50-year-old female who developed forearm compartment syndrome due to mannitol extravasation after undergoing surgery for frontal glioma under general anaesthesia.

An unusual case of recurrent subdural hematoma.

Purpose: We here report an uncommon cause of recurrent subdural hematoma in a female with thrombocytopenia.

Case Report: The patients'detailed workup revealed a diagnosis of chronic disseminated intravascular coagulation. Subsequently, her bone marrow biopsy indicated bone marrow suppression and computed tomography of the abdomen showed carcinoma of the gallbladder with vertebral metastasis.

Clinical features and mortality in COVID-19 SARI versus non COVID-19 SARI cases from Western Rajasthan, India.

Background: In March 2020, the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) issued guidelines that all patients presenting with severe acute respiratory infections (SARI) should be investigated for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Following the same protocol, in our institute, all patients with SARI were transferred to the COVID-19 suspect intensive care unit (ICU) and investigated for COVID-19.

Methods: This study was planned to examine the demographical, clinical features, and outcomes of the first 500 suspected patients of COVID-19 with SARI admitted in the COVID-19 suspect ICU at a tertiary care center.

An unusual cause of 'tree-in-bud' appearance in CT-chest during COVID-19 pandemic.

'Tree-in-bud' (TIB) appearance in computed tomography (CT) chest is most commonly a manifestation of infection. We here describe an unusual cause of TIB during the COVID-19 pandemic. A young male patient who had a history of fever, cough, and respiratory distress presented in the emergency department.

Delayed Diagnosis of Postintubation Tracheal Stenosis due to the Coronavirus Disease 2019 Pandemic: A Case Report.

Tracheal stenosis is an uncommon but severe problem after long-term intubation. Here, we report a patient who came from a containment zone of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and presented with complaints of breathlessness and cough. She was suspected to have an infection with severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).

The need of pediatric palliative care education among pediatric postgraduates in South India.

Objectives: To assess the status of Pediatric Palliative care education among the pediatric postgraduates in South India and reinforce the need to introduce a targeted curriculum to improve their skills and confidence levels in handling terminally ill children.

Methods: The study was conducted in a 2 d workshop attended by 180 pediatric postgraduates from South India. An 18 point questionnaire was given to the participants and the questions were to test their clinical knowledge and confidence levels in treating terminally ill children.
