In our hospital, 553 patients with clinically localized prostate cancer underwent low-dose-rate (LDR) brachytherapy between March 2007 and December 2019. The patients were stratified based on the following prognosis according to the D'Amico risk classification criteria: low-risk and intermediate-risk groups (PSA <10, ≦T2a, GS : 3+4 (≦30%)) were treated with LDR brachytherapy without supplemental extra beam radiotherapy (EBRT), while some patients in the high- and intermediate-risk groups were treated with LDR and supplemental EBRT. The 5- and 10-year overall survival rates were 94.
