We report the case of a 36-year-old woman who was referred to our hospital with a 10-week history of intractable gingivitis. Gingival telangiectases may represent the sign of dermatomyositis. Early identification is essential for diagnosis and immediate treatment.

However, since physical symptoms are predominant complaints from patients who visit nonpsychiatric outpatient clinics, anxiety and depressive symptoms are often unrecognized. It is important for physicians to be aware of these issues concurrent with the physical symptoms.
